[All right, Sarah tells herself, you can do this. And even more, you need to do this. It's starting to get noticeable.
So just type. You don't have to look at anyone that way, and you won't have to let them see you, and they won't have to listen to your 'um's.
Suiting action to thought, Sarah starts her message. Those reading it in real-time will notice frequent pauses and a few backtrackings.]
Hi.
I know some of you don't like to see this kind of thing on here, but I don't know where else to ask.
How do you pick a hair dye? Because I need it and I'm not sure where to start or what to do.

[There. The butterfly can be her signature, her mark. This all started with those butterflies anyway, at least for her.]

What color, and are you aiming for just something temporary or what?

[Because her kind of height, while not freakish, is not quite what most people think of as "normal". Plus she doubts there's any dye in the world that can do anything about it.]

But...
I like my hair. Wouldn't I need to cut a lot of it off for a wig?
[text]
you might need to cut some of it, but not all.

I TOTALLY misread the original post. *chalks it up to Marisa being an ass*

Did your hair change colors? If so dye might not work anyway.

What can I do if it doesn't work?

Well, I'm not a bad person to ask, but really it depends on the hair. There's only so much that can be done with some colors without bleaching first, and that's its own can of worms. Might help to try it on small areas before the whole thing.

[Without, she means, risking walking around with darker and lighter splotches in her hair.]

starting to turn pink.
[Implicit, she hopes, is that she doesn't want it to be that way.]
[text]
If it's light then you can get away with using some cheaper dyes but if it's dark then you may have to bleach it first! The lighter the color of hair you're dying over the easier it is to cover.
[text]
Do you need to darken up your hair or lighten it?

Either that, or have a professional take care of your hair. I don't know, whichever you're more comfortable with.
