That's usually something the bad guys demand because no one wants to do it. But if you have a hero sometimes people want to kneel but the hero DOESN'T want that because they're not full of it

What of anti-heroes? Though if it helps, I can assure you that I have no intentions of parading a mall and demanding the mere mortals bow before me. My ego hasn't quite managed succumbed to delusion despite being told we are here to "defend the Earth."

Plus, I'm not overly fond of losing, and that's the almost sole preserve of villains, isn't it?

I'd argue that in this instance, physical gains are preferable to any other kind. It might not be practical, but as I'm sure I'll be able to find some use for it — if nothing else, it's certainly heavy enough to be gold.
