An access code leading me to a secret forum? How quaint. I was almost expecting to be given a decoder ring for my troubles - or should I be expecting one in the mail now that I've made my presence known here?

But I suppose that doesn't matter very much. From what I've seen this board is filled with absolutely fascinating people of the highest intellectual caliber. I can see why we've all been thrown together here; every discussion I've seen has been absolutely riveting.

Hopefully my own contribution will be able to hold up to the impossible standards of my fellow readers. Prepare yourself, I'm about to launch the conversation topic!

Not a single one. Call me old-fashioned, but attempting to excuse a lack of creativity and attention presentation as vital to success is rather lazy.

A momentary and fleeting decision to dress counter to one's inclinations towards standard or non-standard trends in pursuit of an aim isn't, I'd argue, wholly devoid of creativity or attention if one is committed to doing it correctly.

Nevertheless: opinions &c.

I've rarely seen anyone pursuing such a strategy do it with any sort of semblance towards sincere commitment. Thankfully, as you've said, the wrong sort of opinions are easy enough to disregard.

A sentiment not entirely dissimilar to my point: you're young enough to present a delightfully inept front of experience and culture, old enough to wield a thesaurus, to construct a point and state it, but certainly not old enough to do anything worthwhile with any of it.

Things change — though I do hope you enjoy the network whilst you can. Its entertainment value does wane.
