[the first thing that appears is a very elegant string of Japanese kanji. someone obviously doesn't give a fuck about this network's language abilities]
This is a literacy test. Do you pass?
[and then it (fortunately for you non-speakers) switches over to English before continuing onward]
An access code leading me to a secret forum? How quaint. I was almost expecting to be given a decoder ring for my troubles - or should I be expecting one in the mail now that I've made my presence known here?
But I suppose that doesn't matter very much. From what I've seen this board is filled with absolutely fascinating people of the highest intellectual caliber. I can see why we've all been thrown together here; every discussion I've seen has been absolutely riveting.
Hopefully my own contribution will be able to hold up to the impossible standards of my fellow readers. Prepare yourself, I'm about to launch the conversation topic!
How many of you are familiar with the Lolita style of fashion?

How many of you are familiar with the Lolita style of fashion?

To get any real change from the basic jeans and a shirt, you kind of have to look into the subcultures. Although I'm not sure how many are going on right now besides hipsters.

The fact that those unwashed cretins even pass as a fashion subculture is a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with this country.

Even then, I don't think I've seen any in a while so they might be done. Oh right, there's apparently a goth scene in the city. I got invited to a goth bar the other day.

I should hope their time has passed; perhaps America can then return to more accurate reports on the state of their homeless population. When you say goth, dare I hope that it actually means something more than death metal t-shirts and cheap eyeliner?

VriskaOctavia the other day. He is in no mood for snide sarcasm.]Oh I'm so sure you will be.

But of course. I'm sure that you have nothing to fear from that, though, as your opinion is as infallible as your taste.
no subject
Well that's pretty obvious. My tastes are excellent so you won't be disappointed.
no subject
I should hope not. I don't deal with being disappointed very well.

I can tell from the way you've been talking about things so far. How jaded.

If one accepts inadequate results it will simply encourage more of the same substandard fare. I have no interest in anything but the best, that's all.
no subject
That's true. Sort of the basic tenant of capitalism. What do you do when the best available isn't up to your standards?
no subject
I find a way to acquire something even better.

Now that is the right attitude. That's one of the reasons I went into engineering.

[Hikari no you're supposed to sound more confident than that]

Well I'm also a business minor. Practical, multi-use, if very boring.

Oh god, I hope it doesn't come to that. I've heard the horror stories of customer service.
