I didn't know what to expect when I punched that weird string of numbers into the URL of my search bar. I mean, I really didn't give a damn about what it could've meant or any kind of deeper-meaning crap that it could've represented.
That's what I want to say anyway.
It's so boring around here, I thought "what if this is like a movie or a book or even a video game?" Then I wasn't sure what to think when it led me to this network thing. What did surprise me was that some people are posted to this thing by even writing their numbers on stuff like paper.
So this is cool. Could breathe some interesting into an otherwise boring life.
Anyone I know in on this? Come on, speak up. Or text, hand-write or whatever you do to talk here.

You're more optimistic than most.

So how long have you been involved in all this weird stuff?
no subject
Everyone here has been very kind, actually.

Anyone figure out yet why we can connect to this network thing? Can just anyone that gets the random number crap beamed into their brains do this?

I mean, don't get me wrong. This is all kinda cool so far, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna be fine stumbling around with no idea about any of it.
...
Almost forgot something. Ciel Renard. And you are...?

I'm Adrian Telby, I work at Cold Marble in the city centre. I don't know if ice cream is your "thing" but you can come by if you want. I'll give you a sample or something.
To make up for the fact that I'm not very helpful in this matter.

Anyway, I'm Ciel Renard.
If you've been anywhere near the culinary school during the the past year, you've probably seen the dorm room brawls. Those are usually over the last of whatever I happened to cook that night. Or if you've been watching any of the X-games prelims, I'm the guy kicking asses in the skateboard half-pipe.

I try to avoid schools and I'm not up on skateboard sports. [he also doesn't really watch tv unless it's a home movie night with a date] I'm Shou.

[ Wait a second, that was realization clicking in his head. ]
Seriously? We can just write the numbers on any surface and then we can look at all this!? That's awesome! Can anyone else see it if say... I dunno, I did it on a puddle in a park or something like that?
[ Calming down... hang on there. ]
Anyway, good to meet ya Shou.
perma-video
Nice to meet you too. What's your name?
[ Perma Video Works ]
Oh yeah and I kinda side-tracked us after I introduced myself.
I'm Ciel from the culinary institute.

welcome to the secret number club

Alright. Whether I like it or not, it looks like I'm beamed up for this one.
...
So what's the deal with all this? There's gotta be a story here.
[ Text ]
so far as we can tell, we've been "chosen" by the Earth to save it from aliens who are bad news bears, apparently. it sounds like a videogame and it sort of is like one. but real as shit. someone's died, plenty of people have been injured.
[ Text ]
As far as how real it is? Yeah, I was pretty sure this wasn't just a matter of waking days later or something silly like that. Either way; it's a change up and it's not like we've got any other choice here.
Just roll with it and see what we get.
[ Text ]
haha man. i am sick of you newer people that are taking this all in stride! You're making me look like a lameass.
[ Text ]
Okay, that probably makes me some kinda thrill-seeker.
What's so bad about it for you though? Just seen too much action?

[ Is this Shion being paranoid? Yes. Yes, it is. Sure, it's new and curious. But it's also just plain weird. ]
[ Text ]
It's different -way different from all the boring shit I've grown up with.
So if this isn't "interesting", then you must lead a way more interesting life than me.

[ Yeah, she just said that. Can you feel the burn, man? Can you? ]
I don't know what's going on, but there has to be a reason this was made. Doesn't that bother you?
[ Text ]
[ And that's any attempt to burn him completely missing cause he's not giving a damn. ]
No, actually it doesn't. It intrigues me. Kinda excites me. I want to know what's at the bottom of the rabbit hole we're staring down. I want to see how far it goes.
And if you're going to just stand there, wringing your hands and acting like you're afraid that whatever bogeymen are out there might get you; then stay there.
I'm going to see what all this is about.

Except then he has to go and be an ass. ]
For your information, if I really didn't want to do anything about this, I wouldn't be writing here right now, would I?
I'm not saying we shouldn't figure this out. I just don't think caution would hurt. [ Huh, that analogy... She's sure she saw someone else use it... ]
no subject
Either way, if she could see his face, he'd be completely unflinching. ]
I don't know, part of it sounded like you just wanted to be a pain cause I wasn't beating around the bush while trying to figure things out.
And caution's fine -if it works for you. Me and caution don't get along well because last time I played with caution, the proverbial Jabberwock swiped the object of my cautious pursuit.
