[Misa is obviously freaking out a little. He eyes are wide, she's breathing fast, and she is newly blonde since she last appeared on the network. But her latest echoed change isn't anything that's visible.]

The lights over Tokyo— something is happening, I'm going home. If anyone is coming and needs a place to stay, my apartment is open to you. It's not very big, but I'll make room for anyone who needs it. Bring a sleeping bag or air mattress if you can. Private message me for the address, and if you have a doppelganger either do it in person or by phone. I don't want any uninvited guests showing up.

[It takes him a few minutes to respond to this, because a blonde Misa isn't a sight he's used to. He struggles to keep his expression neutral, but the surprise takes over pretty quickly.]

I... I think I've got an extra sleeping bag somewhere. [How, he's not entirely sure; Xander must've left it behind in the chaos.] Are you going back now? Like now-now?

Yeah, the transporter is linked and I have enough of my things at home to skip packing.

[She can't recall if Stefan has seen her with blonde hair yet; his surprise could stem from any number of things.]

Do you want to come with me?

[It's definitely short notice, and it might be unreasonable to expect anyone to be able to drop what they're doing and go to another country like this, but truth be told she is afraid of what she'll find at home and wouldn't mind not going alone.]

[He hesitates - it's a little too short-notice for him, but he could possibly pull it off. Call in some favors, pull some strings, and he could get a couple of days off. Maybe.]

Actually...? Yeah, I would. Let me get my stuff [and leave extra keys + instructions for dinner for Danny, etc.] and I'll meet you at the transporter.

Okay, great, I'll see you there!

Guess who said she'd be visiting Misa at her apartment? Her rather cramped feeling apartment, that is. When she heard of the Kappa rising and saw the pink lights, she knew she would have to help out somehow. It wasn't just Misa who needed help here.

Emilia used the teleporter, of course, to get over here. And she might have someone tagging along with her. Soon enough, there will be a familiar voice at Misa's door, greeting her in Japanese.

So does the offer hold for giant bugs?

[At least he's not a giant bug right now, good job Hajime.]

I don't think I'll need a place to stay; I've got some cousins over there, and I don't need to sleep anyway...but it's good to plan for emergencies.

[Misa thinks on that a moment. If he had contacted her in bug form, she might have said no.]

As long as you keep the bug put away! And wait, you don't sleep?

Misa recognized the voice, though she glanced through the peephole before opening the door just to be sure.

"I didn't know you spoke Japanese! Welcome," she said, gesturing for her to come in. It was going to be cramped by Emilia's standards whether many people showed up or not, but at least with girls Misa had a bed to offer. "You can put your things in my room, this way."

[Her smile's contagious. Even though he's not sure how he'll pull it off, he definitely doesn't want her going back alone.] Sounds good.

[About half an hour later, after some phone calls and packing, he's made it over to the transporter. He's packed light - well, as light as he could, considering he brought an extra sleeping bag, his toiletries and clothes, his passport, and some yen (just in case).]

Hey. [He pauses, trying to find a polite way to ask this...] When'd you go all blonde on me?

Hi!

[Not that she thought he would ditch her, but it's a relief when Stefan shows up. Misa rushes up to give him an impulsive hug.]

This? Oh, it was an echo, it actually happened right after I left your house.

[She leans back, and though she is smiling her eyes are creased with worry. She glances above his head briefly, but there's nothing there— no floating letters or numbers like she's been seeing on other people. That could be scary or comforting; she chooses comforting.]

Ready?

[O-oh, whoa, incoming hug. Stefan awkwardly returns it, embracing her with all the strength of a raw noodle. His nerves have escaped him - weird, because he doesn't remember the last time he got this nervous, especially over something as simple as a hug.]

It did? [He laughs, though he's sure he's blushing again as his gaze falls towards his things.] I was gonna say, that's a pretty sudden makeover.

Yeah. I'm ready whenever you are.

Okay.

[Misa takes a deep breath, shouldering her bag and stepping into the transporter. Once inside she reaches for his hand, extremely nervous about what they'll find on the other side of the world.]

Do you like it? The hair.

[Adjusting his own bag straps, he follows her inside. Instinctively, he intertwines his fingers in hers and squeezes her hand. He's not sure what they'll find either, and honestly, no amount of counseling training could prepare him for the worst.

Her question, though, jolts him back to reality.] Huh? Sure, I guess. [He tilts his head slightly.] I mean, you're you, no matter what you look like.

Hey, send me the address so I drop by and bug you.

[It's very nice to have someone around who will give her a reassuring hand squeeze instead of tensing up or shying away from physical contact. And it maybe makes her heart flutter just a little bit. She giggles, from nerves and at his comment.]

Good answer. I'm not sure if I'll keep it like this, but I'm getting used to it. Would you believe my Other was a movie star?

[Oh boy, it's going to be a party. But truth be told she won't turn down any muscle she can get; it might be a good idea with multiple Numbered congregating in a new place. Besides, it will be good for everyone's nerves to have someone around who is perpetually calm.]

[Misa sends over the address, figuring that if Shou had a doppelganger to worry about he would have mentioned it by now.]

[ cue the most innocent of his looks - big blue eyes, full on pout and everything. too bad that he spoils it by starting to laugh after a second. ]

Oh, wow, small country. I think I might own that building.

Or my father might. I hafta take a look when I get there.

[Misa honestly can't tell if he's joking, but she knows for a fact that he has the money for it to be plausible.]

I dunno. It looks familiar... Is there like a crazy basement apartment that has a garage door that even leads into it?

Um... kind of? I've never been down there, but there's a basement with a garage door and all sorts of rumors floating around it.

Huh... Maybe it is my building. I know I've got one that I bought so I can have an apartment just for my needs built.

Just for your- hey, I live here you know! It's a mostly normal apartment building!
