Hey, all.

[Arthur sat on a couch in his old family home, going through a number of papers, including a few travel guides. He was wearing a familiar suit, the loud sound of a clock permeating through the room. It was, after all, a fairly rustic house and with that came a lot of easily shifted silence. He went quiet just as soon as he talked, putting down the papers he was handling as if he seemed to entirely forgot what he wanted to say.]

I gotta talk about dividing estate with my brother. Anyone know how to do this?

[Interrupting that, Arthur loosens his tie a little and reached for a tall-neck he had on the coffee table by his phone, which was playing that message.]

Hey, uh. I'm applying for a big job--kinda big. I might be gone a day or two, alright?

[Emilia, of course, soon responds after seeing the message he had for her. With the vampire getting a chance to have a little fun out in Germany, she was much more like herself.]

Oh? What kind of job is it?

Well-- [Arthur loosened the cap off of a beer bottle.]

A really cool one. I can't tell you what it is, though. Not yet, I think.

[She raises an eyebrow. Is he holding out on her?]

And why is that?

'Cause, I think I could lose the interview if I tell anybody. It's one of those super-secret things you've gotta disavow information[He had no idea what that even meant] or something and you can't let anything slip.

[Even though it must have been obvious he was talking about the FBI or CIA.]

Oh, very well. [She pouts a little.]

But I understand, I guess... [It was pretty obvious.]

Well, if I land it, I'll get to wear a cool suit all the time. Bet you'd like seein' me dressed up routinely.

[Alright, he was basically just telling her--]

I see! I bet you'd look good in one, I almost can't wait...

Here's to hopin' I can do it. So-- [Arthur paused, hearing a knock at the door. He waited a few seconds, waiting for the knock a second time. When it came, he gave Emilia an apologetic look.]

One sec, Emi. I'll get that. [He turned off the network after giving her a heart-breaking smile. When he returned, Arthur's shirt was undone a bit and his coat was taken off.

It had been twenty minutes and he looked completely shot.]

...Hey.

[A nod, and when he returns, he'll find a curious and concerned looking Emi.]

...Hey. What was that about, Arthur?

Kyle's in jail right now.

[He was asked if he wanted to head down and post bail, but the bail itself was too much.

Arthur wasn't going to ask for it, either.]

What happened?

[Okay, now that sounds like it could be a mess...]

He got hammered and took a swing at somebody. I don't really know anything else besides that.

[He didn't even confirm that much. They just said 'Public intoxication' and 'Assault'. Kyle was under 21 and already had a record, so he filled in the blanks.]

Ugh. I hope you have better sense than he does...

[The more she hears of his brother, the more she dislikes that guy. Arthur, well, she can see him getting drunk, but taking a swing at someone? They'd have to deserve it.]

Course I do.

[It didn't make him feel any better. He was capable of killing, but he didn't fly into a rage at the drop of a hat like Kyle. No, Arthur was only the type to lash out at others when he really, really lost it.

Even killing would take a drastic occurrence.]

Good. Now this aside... are you alright?

[Just as well, because Emilia happens to be a hothead. She's not as bad as Raye is, but she's had her moments...]

No. [The answer came easily. Arthur was a poor liar and Emilia knew him well enough to tell.

Really, he didn't even want to lie, either.]

Even if I hate his guts, he's still my brother.

[Family has always been important to her, growing up, so she can get where he's coming from.]

I see.

I'm here, if you need some company.

[He smiled, deadened. He felt selfish, not wanting to go to Emilia for it, but--

He was still his father's son. Arthur was taught not to go to folks for help.]

I'll be fine, Emi.

[Well, if he doesn't want her help, then that's fine. Never-mind the fact she'd act the same out of pride.]

Dani might disagree, but fine.

[Arthur didn't respond for about half an hour. When he came back, he was deep in another six pack, a withered look on his face.]

[Arthur was better at internalizing things. He would admit there was a problem, but he hated trying to deal with it.]

[She shrugged a little.]

Nah, I'll be cool. [He tipped a bear in direction of his phone, his smile still withered.]

We're trashy kids from start to finish. One of us was bound to go to jail, right?

He looked tired, having had a pretty bad conversation ten minutes earlier.]

...'Cause, the bill hasn't been paid in awhile.

[a brief little scoff-laugh.]

[Arthur slumped, looking over the beer bottles on the table.]

Dunno if I've got it in me to joke.

[Brother just got sent to jail.]

Who said you've got to joke? You could charge extra for that if you wanted, but what's more important are the basics: deep-throating and perfecting the art of the sausage massage.

Now come on, [he claps twice as a call to action] pick one of those beer bottles and start practicing. The better you are, the more you'll make, the more bills you'll pay!.

[He wasn't the aggressive type. Even if her were angry, Arthur only had withering replies in him.]
