[The video feed comes up on Harry's office in his home. He's spent some time since discovering what the Number in his head is for looking over this network thing and it's probably about time to let the other people know.]

Okay, now the whole "Number" thing makes sense.

[He takes a breath, scrubbing a hand over the day or so of stubble growth on his face.]

Well, I did want to be in the loop but this wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Some of you already know me, but for everyone who doesn't, my name's Harry Lyre.

[Another breath.]

I'll just drop this bomb now, I'm with the press and I've been following this whole situation since March and I'm not a fan of the rep you guys have been getting lately. So... if anybody wants to get their story out, consider this an offer to help you do just that. Anonymous or otherwise.

[Whoah, shit-- there's a definite reaction when Anthony pops up on the screen. A widening of the eyes, a quick intake of breath because... well, it's kind of a shock. Still, the voice he hears coming from the other side, albeit distorted and... uh... zombified so he swallows any exclamation he might be thinking of making.

He clears his throat.]

Uh... well, it's always possible, but right now the media is circling this whole thing like vultures and I'm pretty sure I know where things go from here.

I'll have to keep a low profile, but it's not about credibility, it's about getting the human side of the story out there.

i don't know; usually press is like screaming blood in a pit of sharks or something around here
it's almost as bad as saying you're a cop or with the mob
but that aside, i think what we would like to get out to the world is that most of us did not wake up and go 'oh hey we're all awesome with powers so let's destroy everyone.' we're trying to be normal in a place that doesn't look at us as normal, and let's face it, people do not cope well with differences
and some of us cannot help just how different we are
we are also working with the added bonus that our opponents are using whatever they can to make us look like we're a bunch of monsters by blaming everything on us
some of the blame can be because of our faults, our differences or whatever suddenly making crazy things happen, like people appearing like they are dead or sudden laser canons or whatever
we can't control those changes and we often need a lot of practice to learn that control
it's like a video game where you are playing this guy and you lost the manual so you're flailing around with the buttons to figure out how you do stuff
that's what it's like
people aren't treating it as such is the problem with how we act
get mixed up with sudden bad press of a major concern and we're screwed

I can't really blame you for that, but if nothing else you can count on the fact that I've got a vested interest in not jumping on board the feeding frenzy.

This is the kind of stuff I can work with though. Like I said to somebody else, I can at least try to put a human face to all of this which might just change some minds.

I'm not certain many of us are pleased with the reputation we've been getting. I can't say how much of it is unfounded, but I'm fairly certain that we aren't nearly what the media might generally prefer to paint us as. We are still people, at the end of the day.

Nor am I certain that many of us mean to end up here. I certainly hadn't expected it, I know that. But it is nice to make your acquaintance, regardless.

Things like the mob in Vegas a couple months back don't really help. "Kids do dumb stuff" doesn't really cover it when attempted murder happens.

Um, sorry. I'm Winter Adamas; my father, Rick, wrote a fair amount for the Locke City newspaper until very recently. And you've probably read a lot about me in the news lately, too - being a superhero... tends to make you very, very visible.
