[Being an old man, of course Shen Fujin owns a fax machine. But being an old man who at least tries to keep up with the times, it is a fax machine, phone and answering machine combo. It would probably be state of the art back if anyone but old people used faxes. Heck, it even prints in colour.

Trying to get the thing to stop printing sheets of pink is the trouble. In frustration, he eventually yells into the phone section.]

Stop wasting all of my ink, damn you!

[One of the things that Robb is not expecting when he dials the number in his head is to hear an old man's voice shrieking something about ink. He's certain he doesn't really know any old men, besides one or two, and this particular old man's voice is not one that he remembers.

He pauses for a moment.]

...What? [Great first impression to make there.]

[This particular old man hadn't actually expected a reply. It was merely habit to yell at machines when they weren't working. Taken off guard, his response was a good a first impression as Robb's.]

...How did you get in my fax machine?

[He actually meant to ask 'how are you connected to my fax machine' but alas, it came out wrong.]

I'm not in your fax machine.

[Who even uses a fax machine these days?]

I know you are not in my fax machine.

[Oh man, he's mad at himself (and therefore Robb) for that misspoken line. Still, he gives a long sigh through his nose to try and calm himself.]

How did you get my number and why are you sending me so many pages of pink? This is a terrible April fools!

[ There's considerable hesitation on Casval's end, braving the unknown waters of this mysterious number which he does not trust at all, thank you very much, several nervously crossed out half-attempts on a scrap of paper in his hands denoting such. Eventually, he manages to scrawl the digits out in full, immediately pulling his pen back as if expecting it to bite him.

The elderly bellow that soon pierces his ears is nearly as bad, and he's scribbling a reprimand before he can really contemplate the logic behind doing so. ]

[Well now. Having that get printed out is quite confusing. Someone can hear him, but is replying with hand written notes that are faxed to him? He may not be a technological expert but he knows that's strange.]

[ Faxing, indeed. And boy, does that ink ever smell like limey Brit now, even without the obnoxious voice to go along with it. ]

[The thing with Fay is that he often comes up with phone numbers that he's forgotten, and actually calling them could be pretty awkward for everyone involved. So he gets the idea that if he just taps it into a suitable key pad that isn't a phone, maybe he'll remember who it was to and whether calling is okay or not.

So he uses the remote to his TV. At first there's only white noise, and then a voice from the TV suddenly shouts at him about... ink? Cue him going up and tapping the TV experimentally.]

I'm... pretty durn sure I ain't got any kind of radio channel or suchlike on this thing.

...Radios are not fax machines.

[Sounds obvious, but it's said very flatly.]

[So Hajime's dad had acquired a new cash register for the shop. It's a nice one, and it has a full keyboard and everything. Hajime was just working on setting it up when he absentmindedly keyed in that sequence of numbers...and now it sounds like an old guy ranting about ink.

Stop screwing with my cash register, and maybe I'll stop screwing with your fax.

[Not that he knows anything about the fax, but whatever. Leave his register alone.]
