Mama: Winter, I got some good news I thought you would appreciate. I got a call back from a hospital, close to the Strip. Mama: They said they had an opening for a pediatrician, and they liked my credentials. I have a feeling being your mother helped, too, although they didn't say anything to that effect. Mama: Regardless, I thought I'd let you know that as of this weekend, I am employed again. I know you meant well when you asked us to leave, Winter. I'm sure you've worried about us. Mama: Which is completely backwards, but that's beside the point. Everything will be all right. Let us worry about keeping the family together. We'll leave all of the supernatural business to you and Lily. Mama: I trust your day is going as well as you can manage. Best of luck to you in whatever you are searching for. Me: That's a relief to hear. I'm glad everything went okay. Thank you for letting me know... good luck with your new job, Mama. Me: Well, I guess it isn't NEW, but it's close enough, right? Anyway, I hope everything goes okay. Papa: Everything going okay, honey? I thought I should tell you I'm doing a few freelance articles for the newspaper here in Vegas. It's not exactly the same as back at home, of course. Papa: But it means that we can basically live like we did back in Locke City without worrying too much about things. Anyway! I just wanted to check in and let you know. Papa: I hope you're having a good day. Let us know if you need anything, okay? Love you, Winter. Me: That's great! I'm glad to hear that. I think things are finally looking up for us! Love you too, Papa. Be safe. Me: Mama and Papa both got jobs here! I think everything will be okay now. I still hope we can go back home soon, but this is definitely a start. Me: Now... we just need to figure out what's going on in Vegas, and get all our problems solved in Locke so we can go home. Me: It's a lot, but it shouldn't be beyond us. We just have to keep working hard, right?

[That afternoon, Winter fires up her Kindle, looking into the camera with a smile.] Hi, everyone! I know Lily said we're okay after certain events a few days ago, but I just wanted to check in myself. I've been worried about a few things, but... everything's starting to come together. My parents have jobs here, I have a place to live for now... it'll be okay. I'm certain of that.

[Her smile falters for just a moment.] I'm still worried about that huge lobster... thing... that's living under the city, though. It's kind of like that last little bit of uncertainty before we fought the huge snake in Locke, and we don't know what's going to happen next. We need to prepare ourselves for the worst. I know I said it before, but... things are probably going to get dangerous here soon, and we need to prepare ourselves to fight again.

But that's not something I'm going to worry too much about right now. [She grins again.] I'm sure everything will be all right. We'll make it okay, whatever it takes. So I'm going to live for today, and worry about tomorrow when it comes. I have too much to live for to spend my life wondering what tomorrow will bring.

So... how has everyone been? I've been a little out of the loop this month.

-Well, when you put it like that it almost sounds easy. Still... It's progress, right? Any progress is good.
-Even with everything that's happened, I honestly feel... much better than I have in awhile, somehow.

[A slight pause before one more text is fired off.]

-Giant, potentially city wrecking monsters notwithstanding.

We just need to make MORE progress. This much is a start, but we can't stop here. I don't want to be comfortable here.
I want to be able to live my life. For that, we need to stop all of this, once and for all. But I'm glad you're feeling better, at least.
That lobster, though - I'm not quite sure what to think of that. It's not a snake, so how is it going to attack? Is it special somehow? Does it explode?
We don't have enough information, and if Mr. Curry keeps trying to wake it up and ask it questions, we're never going to find out before it's too late.

We will, so long as we keep trying. That's what I like to think, at least. Nothing's a better motivator than something to fight for, right? I'd like to think we have that in spades.
I think - HOPE - everyone's gotten Mr. Curry to calm down a bit by this point. We need some kind of gameplan.
We DO have something extra to use now, but... I don't know how well purifying powers are going to work against something like that. It may come down to just brute force again, like with the snake.

I'm glad things are going well. And you didn't get eaten, or whatever.

You think we should tell people about the lobster? I mean... it was like this in Locke too, we knew about the snake before it came up. It killed a lot of people.

Mm, I'm glad too... but anyway, think about where we are. If we tell people a giant lobster is going to come up from under the ground, they're going to believe we're advertising for a show, right? There's almost nothing we can do.

Maybe. I don't know. We've... had experience with this kind of thing, after all.

Though, I guess no one's carving bits of it up, and we're not fighting an alien. It might not wake up? Unless Arthur goes back down there.

I almost feel like I'm caught up to the whole situation.

We're going to have quite the fight when that thing shows up, though, huh?

Mm... I never really feel like I'm caught up. I can get a hold on it, but it slips away from me immediately. There's too much going on.

But you're right, we're in for the fight of our lives... again. Wasn't once enough?

Let's face it: We're cursed. Really, there's no ifs, ands, or buts about that.

That sounds about right... although there are some things I've gained since I took on this "curse" that I wouldn't give up for anything.

I can understand that feeling. Plus if it wasn't us fighting these things...

Whenever that thing decides to attack, it'll regret it. That monster's not going to know what hit it!

[Have a teenage girl with bat wings and red, slit pupiled eyes showing up with a determined look.]

[Huh. That's quite a set of features.]

I certainly hope we can make it that easy... the last time was a mess. This time is somewhere even more populated, if I'm right. How do we fight in a place like this...?

[Yeah, there's no mistaking her for not being Numbered.]

I don't know, but we'd pretty much have to take it down pretty fast.

[Nobody wants to see people getting hurt, and Emi certainly doesn't. So of course, she will fight.]
