What's this thing for? Kind of looks like spam and conspiracy theories so far.

No one knows. It's kinda handy to keep in touch with other people with numbers so you have someone you can talk to about the crazy shit going on.

Yeah, pretty much. No one has any idea WTF. I'm still waiting for the guide NPC to show up and tell us WTF the main quest is because it wouldn't be any more ridiculous than anything else so far.
