Seventh Bite [Video]

[Emilia is a familiar face to most incarnates by now, but even so, there are a few changes to her this time. Namely a large pair of batlike wings, and the open backed dress she is now pretty much forced to wear. Needless to say, she's 'out' as a numbered now, her parents included.]

[The vampire's crimson, slit pupiled eyes narrow.]
I've just been given the suggestion that I should not go into school tomorrow. For my own safety, they said. Ha! I think we all know the real reason, don't we?

Let's face it, my changes are rather... obvious. So... what am I supposed to do now?

[That sudden move startled the vampire a bit! Looks like it's something they both need to get used to.]

I thought about going down there and terrorizing them, but that would hardly be heroic. [And she had to be talked down from that.]

I'll see what can be done tomorrow... It's late.

[Arthur stared at Emilia awhile, his mood coming down a bit slow in comparison to how quickly it had risen. He breathed a sigh out his nostrils, still looking plenty worried.]

They aren't up to your level, anyway. If they get scared that easy, what good would they do you?

Yeah... And things are tough enough with us numbered already.

[Meaning, of course, she wouldn't have actually gone through with it. Someone did need to talk her down a bit, though...]

It's fine. You're smart, so you'll have good ideas on how to fix this when your head's clear. [He stretched his arms out over his head and stood up a moment, just for plopping himself on the floor right behind Emilia.]

Yeah... It's not the only private school around.

[She looked up as he stood up, before he sat back down behind her. In response, she brought her wings in tightly against herself...]

[Arthur's hands were raised just a bit. He didn't want to touch her wings, but then--he really wanted to, just to see what they were like. At the same time, he was worried he'd hurt Emilia and he really didn't want to do that.]

...Are there a lot? [Arthur never really focused on the idea of going anywhere but public schools, really.]

[If he were to touch them, it would actually feel rather nice to her...]

[A pause.] You can touch them if you like...

[Immediately, Arthur did it since Emilia let him. He didn't need to be told twice.
Naturally, he just sort of ran his fingers over the bony structure of the wings without putting too much pressure on them.]

Well--I've only ever gone to one school. If anything, I'm kind of relieved I'm done with it, myself.

Oh, that feels surprisingly nice...

[She wasn't expecting that touch, light as it is, to feel as nice as it does. This was definitely something to keep in mind for the future...]

Ah, yes... Must be nice to grow up in one place. Ah, don't mind me, my family moved a lot when I was younger.

...Really?

[At that, Arthur decided to be a little more adventurous and rub a little closer to where the wings met Emilia's back.]

At least you got to see new places. There's that, right?

[Well, she really isn't about to stop him any moment soon. Especially if he happens to try to rub the base of her wings. It's definitely helped calm her...]

Mm, true. I went from Romania, to France, and then to here...

[Arthur did manage to the base of Emilia's wings, only touching on there a moment. He didn't really like the idea of touching where her wings connected directly to her all that much, figuring it could have probably been painful to touch there. All the while, he looked over Emilia's shoulder to the window of her room.]

That's gotta be far, right? Europe's much bigger than the US. [He said, knowing the core basics of geography...]

[And that light touch felt very good... She simply had to make a note to ask him to do it more if he's nervous about it. Still, he got a soft sigh of pleasure out of her...]

It's quite a ways for a young girl to travel...

[Stopping immediately, Arthur waited to hear if Emilia were going to yell at him for doing it wrong. Luckily for her, he took her continuation of their conversation as a 'please go ahead'. So, he rubbed her in the same spot again--]

Did you fly or drive? 'Cause, driving would drive me nuts... [He was a bit focused on the conversation still, but it was tough to keep focusing on that when your girlfriend made that kind of noise--]

[It's a little distracting, but it was a good kind of distracting...]

I prefer to fly...

[Well, she just made that sound again...]

[His fingers didn't leave that spot. Arthur focused, trying to peek to see exactly where that spot was on her back--for future reference.]

That's good--seeing as you could do it on your own now, right? At least in the city.

[Yep, very distracting... and feeling very nice now...]

Easily enough, though during the day it can get harder. I'm afraid sunlight hurts me.

[Arthur felt just a touch bad when Emilia said that.] Is it really bad?

[If only because he figured she deserved it, Arthur stuck to rubbing that spot.

Just hoping nobody would walk in, really. Though, at the very least one could just call that a back massage.]

It's like getting really bad sunburn. [She's not about to see how bad it could get, though!]

[Well, she's fine with him continuing. And besides, she hasn't told him to stop... It's hard not to be sad about not being able to sunbathe like this.]

Hopefully, if someone does walk in, it isn't Dani.]

Oh. You look fine now, though. How long does it take to go away? [Since he was sure Emilia would have probably answered as long as it wasn't an embarrassing place.

Though, he wouldn't have thought twice to question why that would happen--]

Quite quickly, once I'm in shade... And it seems if bits of me happen to go up in smoke, I can... reabsorb it to heal more quickly.

[Arthur went dead silent at that, his hands no longer moving.]

'Up in smoke'???

Arthur, I'm fine, I don't exactly catch fire. And besides, I regenerate now.

[She turns around to face him. It was true, her skin was just as unblemished as it was this morning, and of course looked perfectly calm.]

[Arthur's kicked puppy face had maxed out stats. He pulled his hands from Emilia's wings and wrapped his arms around her, instead.]

We'll find something to do about it. People've got weird magic all over the place, right?

[...Good lord this guy is really too cute sometimes. Have an Emi-blush.]

Perhaps... [She doesn't sound too bothered about the whole sunlight thing. Except she really is, but she's stubbornly and pridefully pretending not to be.]
