Calling it now, we're going to be fighting a giant pink one of these in like a month. I know I can't be the first one to say it, but let's make it official.

I was one of the people who went onstage at that conference, and overall I talked to a few of them. I'm going to hazard a guess here that I wasn't the only one, so:

If you talked to one of the Refined Shell cultists, share what they said to you here.

Yeah, even if it's more of the same gushing praise, w/e, it might give a hint to what's going on with them.

Here, I'll go first:

[He types out (and later reads) what he can remember of his conversation on stage though he leaves out a few details, mainly anything revolving around how nervous he was to be on stage or particularly embarrassing moments.]

So, go for it. I'm going to attach a file of me reading this post out, since I know there are some network people who can't see or read. You don't have to do the same, but I plan on recording myself reading your responses for them if you don't. So just let me know if there's a part you don't want me to share with everyone or whatever.

[It feels oddly generous of him, but since the conference he's had this weird feeling of importance and responsibility - and besides, it clearly benefits everyone to have this stuff communicated and shared, right?]

It's annoying, but I don't think they know anything more about this thing than we do. They were surprised when that earthquake happened.

... Unless that mountain popping up had jack to do with that monster the fish guy found, but that seems oddly coincidental.

Hmmm... When the snake did its thing, it didn't make a mountain. But this stuff has changed a little since then, so who knows, maybe it could have done that given enough time.

That, or no one believed that it was really real, and capable of that.

Anyway, there was legends and stuff around the snake beforehand if I recall right, so maybe there's a grain of something in whatever they said. Somewhere. The whole shell thing had to start from somewhere, right?

Who the hell knows after all that's happened? Maybe that big giant seafood special is the one putting the idea in their heads and they have no freaking idea...

I'm, ah -- very sorry, sir, if it's me uh -- if I'm part of making more work... [On the read-aloud messages front; would certainly be egocentric to assume it's specifically him on any more than not making it any easier or being one less to worry about, but an apology seems due all the same.

Eh, it's not that much work to read something out loud. Well, uh, now that I have a human mouth and vocal chords again, anyway. Getting us on the same page is more important.

Well... Not in particular. It's one of those things where I'm not sure, but I'll know it when I hear it.

Though, alright, I am> hoping that maybe someone in that crowd slipped up and mentioned, I don't know, a secret plan to resurrect a giant crab or using us as a personal army or saying who they want to 'cleanse' next or something. Hmm...

[Pauses, tilts his head down a moment. Mildly coughs.]

...had-had a pulse of - a -- ...giant... crab... god. [Winces.] Uhmm -- ...Didn't as - didn't ask anyone about it - it - it probably isn't even the same -- ...thing.

Maybe not... But didn't we have some people recognizing the mountain that popped up? It might not be completely irrelevant.

[It's not cultist chatter-related exactly but boy is it good to know.]

[A disturbing thought - pulsing the places that have appeared, the church and the mountain, is what he had been thinking, but if they are "recognizing" things, it may be so to not even so much as a lesser but different extent.]

["Say more?" is what he thinks, but he's not even started in on the specific part of phrasing it.]

You actually went? Why? [Because that group just sounds insane.]

Because I wanted to see what their idea of a good impression was and how they were determining who is and isn't 'pure' or w/e while they were still acting harmless.

I read your transcript...did they say anything useful other than that?

[~~Well you already proved the teleporter was safe so what risk?~~]

Unfortunately, not really. Maybe I missed something, if I remember anything I'll add to it, but for the most part it was just 'oh we like you child of the shell' and getting nervous when I mentioned anything about the murders.

[The risks of being captured and skinned or used as a ritual sacrifice by insane cultists?]

So in other words you showed yourself to insane cultists for no reason then?

I showed myself to insane cultists to gauge just how insane they were, and my answer was 'ranges from convention weirdos to moderately organized' with a side of 'completely blindsided by weird shit happening'.

I mean some of them believe what they're saying, some like having a group around them, others are just in it to geek out on us.

[Shotguns still work on dinosaurs! And drownings! Or stuck in quicksand! Just because you're a dinosaur doesn't mean you're invulnerable!]

Huh. So it's kind of mixed bag. Nothing seemingly murderous I guess. Or just clever enough to hide it.
