This ain't the Garden of Eden
Who: Julien and OPEN to friends (If you're wondering if he considers your character a friend, the answer is yes)
Where: Tony Stark's semiabandoned pad in Locke. (Permission was given by the mun who played his godson and 'inherited' the house)
What: Pool party, hangout, talking about things! Go on and mingle.
When: Backdated - Sunday the 27th.
There's a section of Locke given over to rich people's houses in the woods. This one is surrounded with concrete walls and has an angular, geometric-looking gate guarding access to its long driveway. Julien is operating it remotely and opens it without delay.
Much of the space between the walls and the house hasn't been maintained at all this year and is a field of tall grass and flowers, some wilting in the heat, with bushes and trees dotted about. Closer to the house is a volleyball net and the two swimming pools. In the shade near one of them is a table with drinks and mostly fruit-related snacks.
The house itself is aggressively modern and a massive show of wealth. Most of the many cats have been shut away for this - do not release them, there are a lot! Some still roam about or sleep on the furniture. Also roaming is a small army of modified Roombas, chirping and trundling about to the directions of the house computer. Tiny cameras are everywhere, but Julien has subverted the security systems completely.

" -- it isn't like you needed me to be here; you were - I'm assuming you were gonna be - " Oh good lord what if she was already dressed for the water, a slight bit more of a head-turn off track. " - swimming; I can - can leave you alone."
no subject
"Well no, but that doesn't mean I don't like having you around or anything." She smiled nervously and shrugged.
"I can always spare a bit of time to talk too, it's no problem. I can always swim in a bit?"
no subject
It isn't that he doesn't want to talk; in fact being welcome to talk to someone's a relief, heaven knows he's at a loss for what to do otherwise, but frankly "welcome" is soothing enough for now.
no subject
"We could talk about that or... I dunno, what else do you like?"
no subject
"... -- It was always my favorite subject." Anything but a fix on that front, think-think-think, it comes mumbling out chasing itself in ambivalent dryness -
"I - what a - er... What about you, what um. What -- do you like...?"
The threads he'd gotten in sight were I also used to cook, but don't now, which is depressing, or that one, which was the much more natural choice all around but rather obvious - but no, nonetheless better, and it appears that she's sparing the time for a longer try at conversation after all.
Another half-sighing exhale. " -- Excuse me, um. By the way, I'm not um." Don't make excuses for yourself, lad - wincing smile again. " -- I'm sorry this -- isn't... really..."
Flowing, is the thought he can't quite grab something along the lines of.

"History is pretty big topic there, any particular period you like?"
And queue a slight head tilt when he asks about what she likes.
"What do I like? Well-I like to think that I like comics and superhero stuff a lot, and I read every now and again. My dad's been getting me into some older movies that I think are pretty neat." She said with a little bit of thought and a slight shrug.
"Oh no, don't worry about it." What ever it is. "It's fine really."
no subject
She asked him a question, but --
" -- I like medieval history -- mostly, it was uhm." Twitchy smile and a huff, turn of his head aside on the thought that it probably looks terrible. " - was actually - excited over -- some of my pulses, uhmm -- "
-- let's not make it about what he likes.
"You only -- read... occasionally...?" His facial muscles tensed in around a heightening note as a bit of a cringe - it was a shot at the first hold he could find in what she'd said, no way he could sustain an interesting conversation on movies or comics, books he sort of knows, but good lord, let that not be misinterpreted!
no subject
"So like... Knights and castles and stuff? Was the other you from around that time period?"
She'll shrug a little at the next question. "Yeah, I read a little but probably not as much as I should. If that makes sense."
no subject
"Ah - and uhmm. Yes. Technically -- he was from the -- the Holy... Roman... Empire. Specifically; he erm - worked for Charlemagne..."
Sheepish smile - hopeful that'll be a mention which is meaningful for reference.

Think. Think. Think Robyn!
And then after a little pause that involved her tapping her foot and looking up at the sky she had an idea.
"...Wait, that was the guy that fought the Saxons, right?" She's kind of surprised she even remembers this herself and wouldn't be too surprised if she was completely wrong.
"What did he do for him?"
no subject
"It was - he, uh -- my other was a messenger."
Sorry! I totally misplaced this!
"Oh? So the other you was basically a mail man?"
