As the date of my birth approaches, I must express solemn regret. Not just because Alex is gone and Marisa lost her numbers a while ago and now I basically have one or two friends. Seriously. That's shallow. Shallow is for preps and football players. No, I must express the melancholy of something that plagues the entire world, or at least that of the goth kids.
It's hot.
And my entire wardrobe is black or close to that, as well as very heavy and often covering a lot. Truly this is a struggle for the ages. Air conditioning in the mall is a glimmer of pitch black hope in the false, bedazzling brightness of this world.
Also, I am called by duty to take exception to a post making its foul rounds upon the Internet. Steampunk is not just brown goth. It is its own aesthetic with its own themes. You would not catch a goth wearing goggles and gratuitous gears, well, unless they wanted to. More importantly, any aesthetic and/or subculture based upon the historical period in which society at large decided that yellow was finally a colour that could be applied to clothing is the antithesis of goth.
Good day.

Never mind that Steampunk's not especially based on Victorian era, so much as an intentionally strange interpretation thereof.

Has it ever occurred to you to get yourself some lighter clothes? Frankly, wearing black in this heat is madness.

I would look like a poser.

A white summer dress won't kill you. [Which she happens to be wearing. In fact, her room pretty much looks the part of one belonging to a rich kid like Emilia.]

It would betray my true dark persona.
Re: [video]
Really? That must be one of the most ridiculous things I've heard all day.

[And of course she'll make sure not to mention her cousin, who is also a vampire.]

Why not add some color to that like pink or orange or even yellow? There’s nothing wrong with colors you know!
