[ On screen sits a beautiful if slightly awkward looking young woman. She isn’t really used to putting up videos like this, but it kind of seems to be a Thing around here so she’s decided to give it a go. ]

Hi. I’m Jennifer, most people call me Jenny.

[ Her Texan accent is relatively mild, but still noticeable enough to be recognizable. ]

I’m new to the area and sort of… in between everythings at the moment. I need a place to stay, I need a job, I need… well, like I said, everything. I’m not asking for any favors but if anyone has any tips on how to go about finding a roof over my head and somewhere to make some money I’d be super grateful. I suppose I should say something about myself…

[ Her sentence peters out into silence, and after a couple of thoughtful moments she lets out a little laugh. ] But you know, I can’t for the life of me figure out what to say. [ Or rather, she can’t decide what she’s comfortable with just blurting out to all of the world that might also be of actual interest for people to hear. ]

How about you all ask me questions if you have them, and I’ll do my best to answer? Yeah, I think we’ll do that. Take care, everyone!

[ only half intended as a question, a fact reflected in his tone. ] If you know how to pull a pint, there's always a bar somewhere in need of staff.

Hi Jenny. I'm Youou, welcome to the town of weird. [ No sense in beating around the bush, right? His voice has a British accent to it, relatively strong, though he looks at least part Japanese. Which would account for the rather unusual name. ]

I'm guessing you've already checked the papers and stuff for a place to live, and apart from that I have no idea how you go about it. But as for a job... well, what can you do? What do you want to do?

I apologize in advance if I do terrible things to your name when I try to say it.

I have a bachelor in earth and environmental sciences, and other than that I can do odd jobs like tending bar, cleaning, that sort of stuff.

Hi, that's very sweet of you to offer. The only problem I see with this plan is that I have no way of knowing if you're an ax murderer or not.

[Oh...right. Kotetsu just blinks at first and stares, awkwardly, because it's unfortunately just as difficult to prove that he isn't.]

Uh...

[He rubs at his neck, and after a few moments of trying to think of something, he just sighs.]

Guess you don't, no. I'd tell you I'm a cop, but things are kinda complicated these days and I don't think "you can trust me but stay away from the rest of the force if you can" would go over very well.

...How about a hotel? I could put you up for a little while, at least.

[Another beat, and his expression turns a shade more sheepish.]

...probably a cheap hotel. I don't make that much, aheh.

[And with bills and food he'd probably only be able to afford a week or so, two if the hotel was really cheap, but the offer is fully earnest, at least.]

That's really... daring of you. [ More like kind of hasty and reckless-sounding but he's erring on the side of being polite, since she was doing so herself. Which was a heck of a lot farther than most people cared to go on the network. ]

I don't know about anything specific, but downtown there's a lot of places in the entertainment district that hire summer help since everyone is out of school. Maybe places by the beach, too.

[ Pausing, concern manages to bleed through. ]

You really don't have anywhere to stay?

Well, I'm in a hostel right now.

[ She shrugs a little and gives him a small, almost reassuring smile. ]

I'm just looking for something a bit more long-term and figured that if I did it this way, maybe there'd be someone who'd been wanting a roomie or something.

[argents]

[ Well, a roof over her head was something. The tension in his voice tapers off dramatically. ]

Not the worst thing I've seen this network used for.

If you ain't too fussed about neighborhoods, Clearview Heights is pretty cheap, s'far as apartments go. Name's a fuckin' lie, considerin' the only thing you get a clear view of's the other crappy apartments and hotels around, and there's no guarantee shit'll work half the time an' even less about it getting fixed when it doesn't, but...yeah, cheap. And the old lady who runs the joint won't kick ya out on yer ass if you're a couple days late payin'.

What are your qualifications?

[The level-headedness--if that's what it is--is a good trait, but Aeron isn't so sure about her impulsiveness. Moving from place to place without a solid plan isn't something he would be too impressed by as an employer. But...his business sense is at war with the sort of protectiveness that comes with having people he can connect to and wanting to smooth things over for them.]

[ She smiles a little as she writes that, part of her a little thrilled by all the strange things that are happening much as she's also rather frightened. She's just not showing it. She's pretty good at hiding things like that. ]
