Who: Neku and Chuck
What: Neku is, once again, graffiting it up. He seems to meet a lot of network people this way.
Where: Some back alley somewhere
When: Afternoon/early evening

Neku had finally gotten a new place to paint, which was good because if he hadn't... well, the whole 'illegal' thing might have happened again. But now he can relax about it and not freak out when people came by in fear of cops. At least he probably won't get killed if caught this time. He pulls out his sketchbook, propping it up so he can see it while pull out his spray paint and pulling up his shirt to cover his mouth to avoid the fumes. It was really good to be out doing this again. He's so distracted that even without having put on his headphones, he doesn't noticed that anyone is coming.

When Chuck comes by, he's coming from having spent some time with the Keys. As a result, his hood is up, his sunglasses are on, and his contacts are out. And given that it's only been a couple blocks since he left to start heading home, he assumes this kid is another Key. Probably new, since he's never seen him before and since he's covering his face with his shirt. Chuck's seen a few Keys do that before.

He walks up, casual as can be, and looks over the wall from just behind Neku.

"Huh. I didn't know we did spray painting or anything. Do we have like...a turf symbol?" That's a thing gangs have, right?
swissarmyjesus: (but they can't just cancel days of our l)

Chuck can't see the keyhole shape of the kid's eyes, but he knows as well as anyone that that can easily be hidden with a pair of contacts, so he pays it no mind.

"A turf symbol. You know, so people realize this is Key territory?" His tone is halfway between genuine confusion and condescension, as if this is the most obvious thing in the world.
swissarmyjesus: (are you seriously still bitching?)

Neku's tone sets him on edge. Chuck does not appreciate being talked to like that, especially not when he was asking a (semi-)genuine question. He crosses his arms across his chest.

"So, what, you're saying someone asked for a bunch of graffiti on their wall?" Chuck finds that extremely unlikely.
swissarmyjesus: (shit's about to go down in chinatown)

Chuck doesn't have an answer to that. Instead of grasping at straws for a rebuttal, he just stares at the wall, arms still crossed, as Neku makes his fixes.

"So what is this supposed to be, if it's not a turf symbol or anything?"

He falls silent for a moment, nodding along to Neku's answer, as he absorbs the work up on the wall so far. He steps back to get a wider view. Then he tilts his head.

Then he gives up.

"What's it going to be a mural of?"

He squints as he looks at the sketchbook, and decides he wants a better look. So, he snatches the book out of Neku's hands, spreading it open wide between his hands and looking at it from every imaginable angle to try and see something in it.

Nope, nothing. Art, man. He doesn't get it.

"I don't get it."

Chuck glances from the sketchbook page (nope, still can't figure it out) to Neku. Then he shrugs lightly, closing the book and handing it over as if he hadn't just snatched it out of the guy's hands.

"Here. What do you even need it for, if this isn't supposed to be anything?" He doesn't say it accusatively--he's genuinely curious.
