Who: Linda Hidaka and Matthias Abbot
What: Meeting in Vegas
Where: Blueberry Hill Family Restaurant
When: Morning of June 24th (Backdated)
You know, this thing pretty much went against most of the rules that Linda's parents had set up about her about meeting up with people that she had met on the internet. Mainly that she should, you know, not do it. If they knew that she was here, meeting a guy from out of town for breakfast and then going to show him around and stuff? Her father (and possibly her mother) would've flipped.
Which was why she, you know, didn't tell them. They really worried about things too much, and even with the murders going on, it wasn't like Matt had been in Vegas when they happened. So everything was fine.
And besides, she had more important things to worry about now. "The food here is pretty good," she said, looking over at Matt. The two of them were seated at a table, looking through their menus. It was just him though, the other people that he had come here with weren't with him. She would've done this sooner, but that shellfish thing had left her pretty confused and hesitent to leave the house. "Much better than the IHOPs here, anyway." Sure, maybe the food here still wasn't the best, but there were only a couple of these places and they were all in Vegas, so at least it wasn't a wide thing like IHOP was. "Are you sure it's okay for you to be here without everyone else you came with though?"

"Ken's out with his dad, and everyone else made plans. So long as we meet up again around lunch time, I think it'll be fine." Let him have a few more hours of peace. "They have phones and my number if they need anything."
Plus he didn't want to bring a group of rowdy teenagers to meet someone he's never met before. A) They're not exactly the easiest to get along with. Something he learned well in the car on the way here. 2) He's not entirely sure she's safe, either. Echoes are weird things.
"... You're okay with it, right?"

Even if they couldn't, it wasn't like it was her problem if they started causing some minor havoc. She wasn't the one who was in charge of them.
"Yeah. It's alright. I don't mind it," she said. "It's just that I first offered to show all of you around, that's all. But I guess the car ride here was a bit much to be with them the whole time, wasn't it?"
no subject
"And like I said, Ken's with his dad. So I'm the only one who could actually... show up. We're only here a week, but maybe you can meet them before we head back?"
He feels really bad. He hopes it's not too weird?

She nods at him at the last part. "I'd like that a lot. I mean, we don't have to spend the whole day together, but while you guys are here I should at least meet them. Or in Emil's case, meet him in person."
But nope. Not weird at all. The reason why it could even be seen as weird hasn't even entered Linda's mind yet.

Linda nodded. "Okay. That sounds good. Just let me know what you all decide on, and we'll figure out where to go from there." She looked down at her menu after saying that, before looking back up at Matt. "So, any idea what you want to get for breakfast yet?"
no subject
"Honestly, everything looks good. I'm starving."

Once the waitress came to the table, she gave an order of blueberry pancakes for herself, before letting Matt go ahead and make his order.
Of course, if she had any idea of how much food Matt was probably going to order, she might've thought twice about meeting him for breakfast.

"Do you know a lot of other people like us around here?"
no subject
There might have been one or two other people that she's talked two who were from Vegas, but they only talked together once, so she's not really going to count them. "Most of us seem to be in Locke."
no subject
"And I mean--it's probably a lot more peaceful with no giant robots."
no subject
"And yeah, not having the giant robots probably makes things a little bit less panicked." Just, you know, completely ignore the murders going on and everything will be perfectly fine.
no subject
"You never know, sometimes, in Locke. There are people I've talked to with nothing but text who know who I am, but I don't know them. It's kind of weird. And you can walk in on powers or stuff at weird times."
no subject
Maybe Vegas would soon start to be like Locke? Though Linda's not really sure if that'd be a good thing or not.

"The boundary's smaller here, I think. It'll be easier to get out."
no subject
Of course, cultists already noticed things, but still. At least it being a smaller area meant that it'd be easier to run away from anything crazy that was going on too.

"That kind of heavy stuff isn't good to talk about over breakfast though."

Linda didn't say anything for another moment, before forcing a smile to her lips. "So, let's talk about something more fun instead. Where have you been here in Vegas so far?"
no subject
"It's his birthday today, so he's out with his dad for the morning."
no subject
"I hope he's having a lot of fun though. Birthdays really should be the day when you don't worry about anything at all." Though really, if the kid's dad was here, why wasn't he watching him the whole time?

Well, okay, she did say something, it just took a little bit before she was able to speak first. "How'd you get so close in that little time?"

It doesn't take Linda all that long to recognize what he meant, and she nodded. That made things make a lot more sense. "That... that explains a lot," she said after a few moments. "Does his dad know about him being one of us?"
no subject
"I try to keep an eye on him."

"So... umm... how often is it that people have pulses that show that they... were from the same past life?"

Hopefully she'll be lucky enough to have that. It'd be so much easier to figure out what was going on in her memories if she had someone that she could talk to about them.
