Who: Melissa and Eugen
Where: Shopping district
When: June 25th
What: Celebration for promotion! And having some fun hang out times without terrible things happening. Hopefully.
Admittedly, Melissa would have expected Eugen to keep chugging along with school. He'd always adapted to academia in a way she'd never understood and knew she'd never be able to do with nearly as much ease. But, with everything that's been going on, a different path doesn't seem too out there. She is, admittedly, pretty damn concerned about him being part of the FBI- even if he's bound to be on the more intelligence side of things, that can get dangerous. Now she kind of knows how he feels, she guesses.
Still, they need an occasion to celebrate over with all this going down, so she won't mention that. Instead, they're just hanging out like they always have. Today's goal? Shopping. And also just ribbing at each other, because that's what they do.
Melissa comes up behind Eugen after she'd sneaked into a store, poking the back of hid head with the object she's just purchased. "I got you a present~!" she chimes cheerfully. When he turns around, he will be greeted with, what else? A plush pony.

In any case, he's not complaining if he gets a celebration date with Melissa. It's been a rough month and honestly, they both needed the break. Hopefully, the next time they are out, he'll be the one footing the bill. It's good to be on good paycheck, he's not even going to lie that he looks forward to it. Especially now that he needs to get himself a new ride after the rampaging car crashed his bike.
He turns and gets a face-full of plush pony. Should have expected her to do something this silly. Instead of getting mad, he chuckles and shakes his head in amusement, his mood too good for this silly prank to go to waste. "Wow, thanks. Think I'll prefer the actual thing with ribbons." Taking the plush, he bumps it against Melissa's cheek with a grin.

She chuckles, hooking her arm through his and actually not dragging him anywhere, though she will be if he starts being uncooperative. Even if the rest of the status quo is changing, theirs will always be 'Melissa is the bossy one.' "So, where to next?"
no subject
He smiles when she takes his arm, a gesture that he's so used to that it no longer feels wrong despite them having broken up years ago. "I need some office wear. God forbid I will lose my hearing sense if I turn up in T-shirt and jeans. You'll think they would understand why I wouldn't want to waste time dressing up if I'm going to be covered in grease 8 hours a day." Who would want to waste time changing in and out of working gears everyday if he could do the same in something simpler?
no subject
"Yeah, you'd think that would just be easier on everyone..." Oh well. Stupid FBI. "Then clothes for you it is. How fancy do you think you need to be?" If he has to dress up in a suit and tie everyday to go in... that would be kind of hilarious, honestly, but really pointless.

Turning towards the men's section, he looks around the store with Melissa on one side and the plush pony safely tugged under his other arm. Others would easily mistaken them for a couple if he doesn't looks completely underage. It annoys him a little but there's no helping the situation. "What about you? Are you getting anything for yourself?"

"Uh... I guess I'm looking for a dress. An actual nice one, not a club one." She's trying not to make a face, but Eugen can probably tell. As much as she comes off as girly and certainly very proud of her appearance, Melissa has always edged a bit more on the tomboy side of things. Fancy dresses were not her thing. "Though if I don't find one apparently it's not a big deal? Fuck if I know, Karl's mom told me to make sure I have one and no one has told me why."

Her request and the reason for it surprises him, enough that he actually paused in his step. He hasn't realize that they are this serious about their relationship but he suppose, he should have known. Melissa's notorious for having commitment issue. He should have put two and two together when she told him she's in a relationship with him. Relationship. Not fling like she always had. "You're meeting his parents already? It's not too soon?"

"Alright, let's get my vanity suits and then we can get you your nuptial dress." Shooting a grin that he knows he will get hit for, he heads off to the rows of business suits to start browsing.

Still, he puts the shirts and suits on one by one, letting Melissa look him over and pick some of their choices apart. By now, it's the fifth shirt (pale pink) and seventh suit (the black one with thin lapel). Stepping out, he gives her a wave to steal her attention from whatever keeping her occupied. "How about these?" he asks, growing weary with the amount of dressing and undressing he has done.

She looks up from her phone, regarding the newest combination and trying to remain objective and not 'yes it's fine can we move on'. "I like the last shirt better. Suit fits, though. You probably need a black one. How many you got left?"
no subject
Shrugging the suit off, he grumbles at her, "I have 3 more shirts in there. There's another black suit with a normal lapel and a navy blue one. Can we hurry up with this?"

"No, they are all different. You're the one that shoved them to me." The door clicks close. It's another two or three minutes later when he appears in the navy blue suit and a pastel printed shirt that ought to look very gay on other guys but he winged it anyway. "I'm not going to bother with the black suit, I think it looks good when I slipped it on inside. How's these?"
Maybe he should just buy all the remaining shirts. If it's ugly, he'll give it to someone else or something.
no subject
"You don't have to try them all on if you have enough that works." Seriously, she does not care. Also she is getting bored, and a bored Melissa is a dangerous thing indeed. Still, she'll look him over when he comes out, raising an eyebrow at the shirt. "I pulled that one as a joke. Stop looking fine in everything." Why do they even bother having him try on clothes??
no subject
It probably helps that he's not really choosy about what he wears unless he appears outright ugly in them. Which is rare. With a shrug, he heads back into the stall to change out of his new wardrobe.
With all the suits and shirts piled on his hands, he headed straight to the cashier and dumps them unceremoniously on the counter. "I'll have these. I left the ones I don't want in the stall." Typical guy behavior, even though he looks like he should have a milder manner.
no subject
She rolls her eyes and mouths an apology to the cashier as she begins to ring Eugen's clothes up, but soon enough the two of them are out of the store and on their way.
no subject
Melissa helping to pack his clothes doesn't bother him as he's used to it by now. So, he waits until they are both done, paid for them and walk off with the bags with a thank you to the cashier.
"So, dress. Ladies department then. Anything you want to avoid before I start looking?"
