Who: Karl Aurion, Katie Evans
When: Monday, 6/23 around 6pm
Where: Around the city
What: Katie ran into some bullies and Karl goes off to the rescue
[Today was suppose to start of like any other day like usual. She went off to her friend's house, stayed there for a little while and immediately go straight back home once she was done. After all, with school over, there was almost nothing left to do. Her parents wanted her to go to a camp but she refused. There was usually nothing to do over there anyway so why bother wasting money on stuff like that? And besides, she wanted to spend some time with her grandparents anyway....
However, as she made her way toward a bus stop, she couldn't help but notice a few things. For one thing, she was aware that there were gangs that might be lurking around but she usually ignored them. This time however, she couldn't ignore what was going on. When there were high schoolers picking on a much smaller kid. She normally would care less but seeing that poor kid being picked on? Well, maybe she could do something about that.
But still...]

Maybe the punch had been deserved, but was it really necessary to hit so hard? Who knew Jay had that in him. A hand reaches up to poke at the swollen area and the action instantly gets regretted. Ow ow ow. It hurts worse than it looks. Does it look bad? Probably does. A trip to the hospital might be in order. Later. For now, just continuing on this walk to help clear his head sounds a good plan.]
no subject
Without another thought, she marched in front of her getting ready to give a piece of her mind.]
Hey, why don't you pick on someone your own size? Leave them alone!
[She shouted but the problem now was when she got a closer look? Oh, they had knives with them...]
no subject
Briskly and calmly, the police officer heads on over to the group. His makes sure his gun is very plainly visible. No idiot kid would try to use a knife against a gun. Factor in intimidation and those kids will run with their tails between their legs.]
What seems to be the problem here?
[His voice comes out loud, clear and very authoritative. He stands straight and tall. The uniform coupled with the gun add onto the authority feeling radiating off him. Simply put, Karl screams intimidating right now.]
no subject
You heard me, I told you to pick someone your own size!
[It wasn't working. Now that their victim managed to escape with Katie as distraction? They were madder than ever. With nowhere else to go, the young girl quickly took a rock and got into a fighting position. If they wanted a fight, so bring it!
Just as she was ready to throw the rock, there was a voice that appeared so suddenly]
Hey....you're... [Weren't you the guy she talked to the other day?]
no subject
Well?
[The next words out of their mouth better be NO SIR. Even better would be no words and running away. Yes, running away has a nice ring to it. Now do it, kids, before you get in a fight you can't win.]
no subject
What? A cop like you is going to tell me what to do? [He said when he placed a knife in front of the young girl.] Besides, she was the one who wanted to attack first. I was protecting myself! It's the law right?
[But Katie shook her head] No way, you were attacking that kid! You can't just say that, how big of a hypocrite are you?!
no subject
A large teenager in possession of a knife approaching a child with a rock paints the child as the one in danger. Were I to search her, I would find nothing dangerous. As for yourself, how many illicit narcotics were I to find if the same were done to you?
[This is your call kid. Karl can do a full cavity search right here and now or you can just leave like a boy.]
no subject
But the other kid gave him a cocky smirk]
Good luck finding anything. If you searched me, I doubt you'll find anything! [It didn't seem like it would back down anytime soon. Although, Katie just shook her head]
No way, I know that you are hiding something! A kid with a knife just doesn't smell innocent to me! [As soon as she said that? The older teenager scowled at her. The moment he said that he had enough of her, he began charging after her. Police be damned.]
no subject
You have two options: I can call in for back up and have you arrested for your stupid stunt just now not only to be tried for your stunt just now but for whatever you have on your person or you can run away as fast as you can while I'm feeling nice.
[The only reason the kid's being given a choice? Because dragging in a little girl to testify against a scumbag like this is too much. Kids don't need experience that so early on in life.]
no subject
The other boy was rather surprised too as he struggled to break away from his grip but it failed. Anything he did was in vain before finally giving a growl. It looked like his pride was immediately shot down.]
Man, what are you?! Fine, I’ll go but you better w-watch your back, there are other gang members around here who will be looking for you!
[He said trying to sound tough but he was in fact scared. Katie notice the stutter but didn’t say anything. Instead, she just looked back at Karl and just...wondering what he’ll do next.]
no subject
Because other gang members will stick up for a grunt in the trouble with the police force all due to his own reckless stupidity which began with an attempted assault on a child.
[Really, dumbass, use your head. No gang member will stick up for you, especially when kids are involved. Actually, adding on this fun little fact may not be a bad idea.]
You are aware that many individuals who harm children are made into prison bitches in every sense of the word, correct?
no subject
The gang member just stared at him. For a few seconds, he didn’t say anything but responded with sigh.]
Tch, well, what do you want me to do? I finally learned my lesson, can you just let me go now?
[He was still trying to act tough but he had given up his valiant effort of attempting to do anymore harm to the cop.]
no subject
Yes, however, be warned: should I see you again or hear of you accosting children, I will order a full inquiry into your gang and whatever business they conduct and will make it well known that you are the cause behind this investigation.
[In other words, kiddo, you'll be a dead man walking. Karl gives him a moment to come to this conclusion himself before speaking once more.]
Do I make myself clear?
no subject
Fine, just get me out of here.
[He gave a deep frown before giving a glare back at Katie. It was fairly harmless, while he may look threatening, he wasn’t planning on doing anything to the young girl. Luckily, the brunette caught on to that but didn’t bother to make any comment. The last thing she needed was to piss the boy off even more and get herself into trouble.
Instead? She just stepped out of the way to let him do his business. Don’t want to piss him off either.]
no subject
You have 10 seconds to get out of my sight before I call for back up.
[With that, he spins the kid around and gives him a solid push forward. The action screams 'I mean so here let me help you get lost.]
no subject
Meanwhile, Katie still found herself looking back Karl with no idea what to say to him. Of course, there were the two words that she should say but she couldn’t. Was it a matter of pride? Maybe their first conversation didn’t exactly go so well?
Who knows. She just found herself taking a few steps back in fear that he might tell his grandparents what happened. Then again, would that even be a bad thing?]
no subject
Once the kid is gone, his attention shifts to Katie. No realization about who she is comes. All she is to him is a poor kid who got caught up in a pain in the butt situation. A quick once over reveals no injuries. She seems a bit shaken if that stepping back is any indication, but nothing beyond that. The glare shifts into a far kinder, if gentle expression. No reason to freak her out any further by looking like a menacing monster.]
Are you all right?
no subject
It was a whisper but if Karl listened carefully, he might be able to hear it.]
Thank you… [She said before looking to the side. It was a little weird. She never thanked someone whom she barely knew.]
no subject
Not at all. Do you require a ride home or anything of the sort?
[Bus fare or anything else? Really, the least Karl can do after that is help the kid out if possible]
no subject
Can you call my grandparents? I think I would feel better if they knew where I was and picked me up from here.
[The faster she does this, the better she can get away and forget this whole thing ever happened]
no subject
[A simple request. Karl reaches into his pocket only to freeze. Shit, he left his phone on his desk at work, didn't he? First getting punched, then dealing with an idiot thug and now a forgotten phone. Today really is against him, isn't it?]
Would you mind accompanying me back to the station? I seem to have left my phone there.
no subject
And how do I know that you’re not going to take me somewhere else?
[Sorry, Karl, if she was going to go anywhere, she better know if he was telling the truth or not?]
no subject
Kid, I've had a long day. Either you walk the four blocks with me to the station or I go by myself.
no subject
[Katie just raised an eyebrow at him. Can’t she just stay right here and just wait for her grandparents to pick her up? What was so wrong with that? But no, he just had to lose his phone and make her go back to the police station.
But still, she didn’t want to be alone after that ordeal she gone through. With a heavy sigh, she just gave a nod.]
Fine but the faster we do this, the faster I want to go back home!
no subject
You'll be home soon enough. Let's go.
[With that, he starts walking. Hopefully the kid'll follow, too.]
no subject
What a conflicted person Katie Evans was.]
It's not a long walk from here right? I think it was just around the corner the last time I checked.
[Sorry, Karl, Katie's default mood around new people was that of a jerk]
no subject
A little over 4 blocks.
[Please don't complain about the walk. It's far shorter than it sounds. At least, it feels short when you walk frequently.]
no subject
Let’s just get it over with. A 4 block walk shouldn’t take too long.
[And just like that, she immediately decided to walk passed him and go straight for the building. Of course, she didn’t look back at Karl either. If neither of them said anything soon, this was going to be one long awkward walk indeed.
Now what?]
no subject
no subject
So...what brings you around here?
[Not a good way to ask to someone who saved you but oh well! At least she’s trying!]
no subject
Just taking a walk. [He glances over at her.] Yourself?
no subject
Just going back home to my grandparents. Wanted to hang out and talk to a few friends before it was dark and you know what happened.
