❧ 012 ❧ Digital voice recorder
[As the recording starts, there's indistinct voices in the background of an older couple and the occasional meow from a cat.]
After some consideration--
[All of the sudden, the electricity in Xander's apartment cuts out and everything becomes eerily silent. Another power outage. An older woman's voice calls out to Xander and asks where the candles are, which he promptly answers by turning his head away from the voice recorder.]
...They should be where they were before, on the kitchen counter. Unless you moved them somewhere else? Do you have the flash light?
[Except he doesn't get an answer and the same voice as before states that she found them a few moments later, followed by another meow from the same cat. A chuckle is heard from an older man, he asks about locating Hugh, the other cat. As Xander speaks, his voice wavers slightly as if something was wrong.]
He's probably in the bedroom in the cat carrier. Don't worry about him, he'll be fine. [Oh right, he should really get back to why he made this post. He clears his throat and tries to keep his voice neutral.] As I was saying...
After some consideration, I've decided to look for a roommate. My only requirements that you are at least 18, with a job in Locke and can handle being around two short-haired cats. If you're interested, please contact me over the network.

If you don't mind me asking, how big is your place? [ Because he will need space to put his research materials. ]
Voice
[Sadly, Xander couldn't see much from the digital screen on the device he was using.]
At the moment, it's a one bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room. I plan on eventually moving to a larger apartment that can accommodate two people without much issue.
Voice
[ It's probably a good thing because he wouldn't want to freak you out too. ]
So, just to be sure, are you're looking for someone to share you current place or the one you're going to move into?
Re: Voice
[The glowing orb wouldn't probably bother him too much considering he originally thought his other self was a parasite instead of a supernatural being.
He clears his throat again, trying to get that business like tone back, but it wasn't working.]
The one I'm going to be moving in to. I'm sorry for what I said earlier, I wasn't thinking straight.
Voice
Is something wrong? You don't sounds very well.
[ He'll leave the apartment question for later. ]
Voice
[He sounds a little confused. It hadn't dawned on him that the blackout was affecting him right now since his main concern was his parents. Sure, they knew he's a numbered, but he has to watch over them and make sure they stay safe while they're here.]
Voice
[ That just make him worry because he doesn't know what's wrong. ]
Did something happened?
Voice
[He's not exactly sure how he can explain it. It wasn't like the tainted water incident or when he was caught in a group of zoned out civilians where both situations resulted with him laughing uncontrollably for several minutes.]
No, nothing happened aside from the blackout.
Voice; Private
[ He doesn't remember Xander being quite this unnerved so it worries him a little. Plus, if he's planning to move in with him, he'll much rather know what's wrong before getting hit with it in surprise after signing the contract. So, he switches to private mode. ]
I won't talk, if that's what you're worried about.
Voice; Private
[As he says that, he turns his head away to look towards his parents. They were fine, chatting among themselves a few feet away. Yet, the amount of dread he was feeling was continuing to build up inside.]
...I'm not sure what it is, but it feels like something bad is going to happen.
Voice; Private
Does this has something to do with your power? Do you some sort of premonition power?
Voice; Private
[There's a slight sound of his fingers tapping the side of the recorder. A restless habit when talking to people and it doesn't dawn on him that he's doing it.]
I'm sorry, this conversation has gone off topic.
Voice; Private
Sorry, I shouldn't have pried.
About that, I need a place too so I might take you up on that. I have a lot of books and paper materials though, I'm not sure if your cats would mind...
Voice; Private
It's not your fault. [An exhale is heard.] ...You were concerned.
They shouldn't attack anything of yours. Connor likes being around people and might get in the way from time to time. Hugh, the other cat, will stay out of your way.
Voice; Private
[ He pause, wondering how to break the news to Xander but it has to be said anyway. ]
There's something else I need to let you know. I'm working with the FBI now, so if you're not comfortable with that, I won't impose on you.

Whereabouts of the new place? I'll prefer it to be nearby the university, if you're alright with that.

Would a student be out of the question?
[He didn't exactly have a job... but his 'funding' didn't really make that a problem, unless the poster genuinely felt it was.]
[Voice]
[Voice]
I am not a student yet. I am on my gap year, in the process of applying to Universities.

Are you referring to your current residence or the future one?
no subject
...Are you all right?
no subject
[There's a brief pause at the question.]
...Yes, I'm fine.
no subject
[That earns a brief pause, too.]
-didn't plan to, actually. I suppose. I- perhaps I should? [But anyway, that concern wasn't anything to bother a stranger with.]
You're sure you're all right? Are you worried about your cats?
no subject
[At least it was some friendly advice, despite his tone not being the most reassuring at the moment.]
I'm not worried about my cats, they're fine. Our... conversation isn't bothering me either.
no subject
If you're sure, then.
Would you perhaps like to meet, in person? To see if you think I'd be a good fit?
no subject
[At least he forced some confidence to shine through with those two words.]
...That might be for the best. [There's a slight glance over his shoulder, trying to see outside how far the black out has reached.] Where did you have in mind?
