[The author of this particular addition to the network seems to understand as much as any other newcomer at first. The numbers had been stuck in his head starting a few days after his arrival into the city, though the event that sparked it was something he had barely noticed. An emotion had pulled at him since then. However, it wasn't particularly jarring or life changing, aside from the fact that he rarely felt any sort of emotion in his every day life.

A carefully handwritten message appears on the network, entirely in Japanese.]

It's not going away.

What does it mean?

[About half an hour later, another message appears on the network. This time, it's a text. It's also in English.]

Nevermind. I found what I was looking for.

Most people come on here not even aware that they've found their way into the secret number club. Some get pretty freaked out about it. You seem a bit calm by it.

It took a few hours. I read the important parts, the general update posts, as well as anything that looked interesting.

[And he took notes on the important parts, which he will start compiling once he's not at work. Sitting in the police station. Around people that he's unsure he can trust anymore -- not that he trusted them in the first place.]

It's unpleasant and hard to believe, but that's what everyone says at first.
