It's been about a year since that trap at the mines. There aren't that many people left who remember that, feels like. [Which is unsettling and sad, something he'd rather not get too preoccupied by.] I know we had someone find that "Sage" and the rest of us trooped in to see him, but I can't remember why we had anyone there in the first place. I don't suppose there's anything down there now?

[Julien makes a sound like a chuckle.] Haha, sorry. I have to wonder if it wouldn't be worth fleshing out the FAQ, getting more detailed records out there. Some things probably aren't terribly relevant now, of course. Still.

I don't know. I didn't go out and tell him I could see him lying, but I nudged around and he'd clamped up.

Well, that's good to know. At least we know now that we can't take everything he says at face value.

Yeah. I don't like that he lied! If it was like, that wouldn't be safe, or it's classified or something - I'm sure there's a reason, but this is uncomfortable.

But otherwise, he seemed like an all right guy, right?

He seemed all right! Trust is a matter of degrees, though. I don't know, yet.

By the way, any luck on the job front? Outside of the modeling biz, I mean.

Sure! As long as I can bring my own chopsticks. Eating can be kind of a chore these days.

Well, I haven't really been looking. I know I should be! But working in that clinic was one of the best jobs I'd ever had, even with how hard it was. Anything else I look at it and it's like... well, it feels like a step down.

Chopsticks are easier for you thank a proper fork and knife? That's crazy.

I know that it's probably not what you're looking for, but L's coffee shop is still hiring. And if you worked there, you'd definitely get to see a lot more of me!

My own chopsticks over normal cutlery. Everything I use's gotta be kind of oversized just so I can be sure of my grip.

Oh, you work there now?

I'm kind of curious to see what they're like.

No, don't work there -- just a frequent patron. Their lattes are better than Starbucks'.

Cool. I've stopped by a couple times. Lately I haven't been drinking as much coffee as before.

Trying to cut out caffeine? I couldn't live without it.

It's really more like the way I sleep and wake up went and changed! Guess I could take some in the evenings.

Oh really? What changed about it?

Well, I sleep a lot more lightly. It's easy to wake me up, and do it all the way - the people in the floor above me walking around does it. Lucky me it's also easy to get back to sleep again! And if I don't let myself take naps I do sleep deeper, but I don't always know it's coming. Maybe it's just as well I can't drive like this.
