Semi Open/Action

Who: Henry and any kid under 13 years old
When: June 7th, afternoon
Where: At random park A
What: It's time for the kids to be awesome.

[Henry has been thinking about this idea for awhile. He had experienced the adults essentially telling him to sit out on all this and mind his own business. Sure, few were okay with the idea of him learning how to defend himself, but he honestly questioned if the time came that they'd allow him to do, well, something. He didn't like the idea of being inactive, not able to help or partake in the fight against the aliens. Weren't they all at risk if they lost? Why was it okay for the older members of their group to throw themselves into the fighting and investigating when the kids also had a risk in being apart of this too?

Not wanting to let the thoughts linger anymore, he decided. He would try and get whatever kid that was on here together and they'd talk about what they'd do. And just that day he had put up a message of being bored on the network and wanting to hang out with some kids his age in random park A where they'd meet up by the castle like play structure.

The boy would be there sitting on the edge of the sand box riffling through his fairy tale book as he waited.]

[It doesn't even occur to Phillip to suspect anything other than friendship, and it made him happy! Henry could be pretty grumpy sometimes, but he was a nice person and should have more friends, so this kind of thing and Henry setting it up seemed great! It should be little surprise to the boy when Phillip approaches the structure, waving and smiling happily as he makes his way over.]

Hi Henry!

[Danielle was curious if it WAS just to play. Not that she couldn't understand kids just wanting to play. She wanted to just play sometimes herself. The thing was it was HENRY and he was. Well. He was a smart kid and apparently secretive of his birthday, so she wondered if there might be an ulterior motive.]

[Or maybe he just wanted to play.]

[Still, it was worth checking out, she figured. Even if it was what he said, she could make more friends. Which would be nice after Sam forgot, to have more friends her age who knew.]

[So she headed to the park, in yet another dress more fitting for a doll then a little girl playing in the park, and wearing sunglasses that...didn't really fit with the outfit, but after the car incident, she'd been feeling more worn out. The light was too bright to walk around without them. At least they also had the advantage of hiding half her face.]

[She approaches the castle, spotting Henry at the sandbox. She walked over, leaning over to look at the book.] What's it about?

[It took a little bit, as Dani had missed her first bus out but after a while she arrives at the park, her wings crammed into her backpack like usual. She is a bit wary, looking around sharply to make sure she wasn't followed by anyone. She was still trying to learn her own Independence from her father and sister the best she could.

But she approaches Henry and sits near him with a smile. If he wanted to play, why not? Besides..she wanted to make friends anyways.]

Whatcha reading?

[...you know, she really should not be surprised anymore.]

You too?

[Hey, she didn't expect to see you here!]

Uh huh. Kinda funny huh?

[Danielle is just starting to think everyone she knows personally is on the Network.]

A bit. You're the fourth person I ended up running into.

[Dani's a bit more lucky on rarely running into others. The shyness helps though.]

That's a lot..but it can kinda be a good thing. More things that people can know and talk about without worry.

[She only knows so many people due to sick, it's WEIRD.]

There is that. As long as they don't forget. [Like Sam did.] But it's good to have someone to vent to when it gets less cool and more stressful.

Yeah...

[A bit of a sad look..but then she smiling again.]

But..they can come back if they forget. Maybe.

That's true.

And if you were friends before, you can still be friends after.

Yeah. Friends are friends no matter what right?

[She's not good at this friend thing.]

Yeah, that's right.

[Neither is she. Intensely loyal.]

Though, speaking of which...

[A sharp nod and a bright smile that quickly fades into a curious look.]

Hmm? What's wrong?

[Leans in close to whisper.]

Do you think you can keep us meeting in the hospital between us? It just seems like it'd be more problematic to mention right now?

[Thinking on it for a moment. Before nodding again a bit.]

I guess you are right...It would be a problem. I can keep it quiet!

[Until something happens...then she'd freak out.]

[She nods and smiles.] Thank you.

And it's nice to see you're so friendly with the people here.

[Remembers the time she thought you were mute for a while. '-']

[Ah..She remembers that and at least offers up a sheepish look]

I'm trying at least...It's hard to help when you can't try to talk with others.

That's very true.

Hopefully we'll be able to help more.

Maybe. It all depends on if people will ever let us kids do things.

It's why I haven't let the adults know what I'm doing until it's too late, to be honest.

I tend to get caught and told to go home and be safe.

[A pout. She tired!]

It is a difficult art to master and usually takes a bit of luck.

Huh...I'll have to work on it..or have a clone nearby or something next time.

A clone? You can do that?

Yeah. I can make up to 3 others of me and make them do things. It's kinda hard...I get a headache after a while because I can see what they see and stuff.

That does seem like it'd get confusing after a while.

Still, that's pretty cool.

[ When everyone's gathered Henry led the other kids to a forest like area near the play structure. There's a small clearing with logs all set up in a circle. Clearly this part had been used before by others but currently it's abandoned. Henry takes the most frontward seat in front of them all looking a bit solemn.

He's pretty sure the more...er...intelligent members of the group know something's up. So, before anyone starts asking questions, he speaks: ]

So, I'm guessing some of you are wondering why I just dragged us out into the bushes.

[Yep, this representative of the smarter folk here had known something was up since the network message Henry put out. Henry isn't the kind of person that asks for other kids to come hang out with him; he'd snapped at him when he'd had the "audacity" to call them friends. Nope, something else is clearly going on here.

[He's perched on a log himself, looking faintly bored.] So we're finally getting to what this is really about?

[Ah, there it is. So it really was an ulterior motive. As it is, she's sitting on a log, all prim legs together, hands in her lap. Though she's obviously looking around, even with the sunglasses. Wouldn't want someone sneaking up on them.]

I was rather curious myself.

Yeah...What's going on?

[It might have taken her a bit but..she wanted to know what this was all about. She's sitting on a log, rocking a bit, trying to keep her balance for now.]

[And then there's Phillip, who seems genuinely surprised that this is not all about making new friends. Though, now that it's been brought up... maybe he should have known better.]

Wait, so what is this about, then?

[Meanwhile, Katie will be over here just wondering how Phillip just managed to convince her to come to this meeting. While she didn't have anything better to do at home, she also had better things to do herself.

She didn't say anything, instead, she just looked at Henry waiting for him to respond]

[He counted on Toushirou and maybe even Danielle to pick up on the oddness of him asking people out. Phillip, he'd be asking for some kind of miracle and Dani? Well, she's her own special case. Katie was someone he was the least familiar with so he had no clue why she was here or what she thought was going on.

Still, now was better than never.]

Well, I wanted to talk to you guys about the network and the adults and well, about us.

[He won't hold the details any longer so he just continues.]

I think some of us can agree, at least, the ones that have been in this thing for awhile now that the adults don't want us doing anything. Am I right?

They really freaked out at me at first. Not as much now, but I guess that might just be for me. [Is anyone surprised that of all the kids, Toushirou has gotten a tad of credibility with the adults?]

The adults are definitely protective.

I let it slip that I was young in my first Network post. There was a lot of concern for me. It happened less with people I talked to later because I don't write like a kid, so most think I'm older than I am. [She shrugged. She knew how she wrote and she still remember the look on Naomi's face when they met.] It's what adults do.

Yeah...Even the teens don't seem to think we should be getting involved. Even if I've tried to help, everyone is more trying to tell kids to be safe or to go away.

[She's been scolded and taken from danger more often then she's really helped. Dani is starting to get a bit annoyed with it.]

[Phillip nods too- he hasn't tried to help as much, and during the snake attack no one could tell he was a kid, but still.]

No one's believed me when I've said I won't get hurt either. [but that's kind of because he keeps not explaining that he can't actually get hurt.]

[Meanwhile Katie was over here sighing to herself from her own corner of the room.]

Adults are that way, they just want to see us safe and not to get hurt. But it seems a little weird when we can help out too.

[More like let the other kids do the work for her. What powers does she have anyway?]

Well, I think it's about time we don't listen to them anymore.

[Like they had already.]

What I mean is, we should just work together. You know, as a team or something. Forget what the adults tell us to do and work together to fight back.

[What's listening to adults that tell you to stay out of the way? Toushirou has no clue. He threw himself into this pretty much from day one.]

And trying to keep us safe would hold more water if we didn't have the abilities we do. Some of us are more useful than half of them. Pulses don't care how old we are; nobody else should.

[Really, with everything he can do, and the fact that Phillip is immortal or something, plus that plasma blast stuff Danielle does . . . Henry's belief power may not be straight-up offense but it's pretty handy. Dani and Katie are kind of unknowns to him, but the point stands.]

Couldn't hurt to be more organized. We're kind of all over the place right now.

[A team? Danielle tilted her head, thinking that over. She knew a little of what Toushirou and Henry could do, though she was unfamiliar with the other three's abilities. She also knew she'd get a more varied skillset, but then again, she also had that little problem of hers.]

Even the most capable of people need help sometimes. An adult trying things on their own would probably get in trouble just as much as a kid would. We could help each other out, get each others back if there's something we know we gotta go after.

[Plus something about the idea sounded nice. Comrades in arms. ~~Maybe friends?~~]

And never know when you might need another skillset to handle a certain situation.

[She grins.] Plus it'd be kinda cool to be on a superhero team.

[Dani just nods, a grin forming on her face.]

Yeah, We can get where they can't! We can do anything they can do and more! Besides, Kids can get away with more.

[Not always sounding bright, she had a idea at least.]

And with a team, we always have someone to look to if we need help with anything too.

[oh!! a team? That sounds good to Phillip, especially since to him having a team basically means they're all going to be friends. And if they're all friends AND doing useful things, this is the best idea ever!]

We could totally do it! I bet we'd get really good at it, too. [Though practice would need to be a thing.]

[Now that's something Katie didn't think about. A team where they can fight back and leave the adults be. How interesting.]

If we are going to form a team, then what powers do we have? How are we going to form one if don't know each other's abilities?

[While she didn't quite agree with the idea of kids being on a team, she was curious to see what the others can do.]

I don't have anything yet but what about the rest of you?
