[Pierce's very first video post, everybody! The reason? Well, his hair is very clearly dyed red, and that is apparently important.]

'Sup, network. So, fun story. Sort of. Ish. Fuck it, I'm telling you all anyway.

So I dyed my hair red for the first time yesterday. Looks pretty good, yeah? But apparently whoever I was or... whatever we've decided our Echos are coming from had red hair, so I got an Echo off of that. Apparently my slash his name was Pyralis and the name came from being a redhead.

Boring, right? Yeah, I looked up the name, and aside from apparently having something to do with moths in like... species naming and shit, Pyralis as a name means 'of fire.'

Basically what I'm getting from this is my and or his parents must have sucked, because they basically named their kid Firecrotch. [He shrugs and gives the camera a thumbs up before cutting out.]

The crotch part. I know pyro is an old Greek word or something, but you could probably do more research on the rest.

I may have elaborated there. [you're no fun.] But I do know it was specifically 'cause of my hair.

Yeah, I'm betting it had more to do with whatever was on your head. Just a hunch.

Well, I was also kind of hoping that maybe it would mean something to someone.

But mostly, yeah.

"Pyro" is still pretty common. I don't know much else about Greek.

[But someday he'll be fluent. Maybe.]

I think your name sounds really cool! Like something from Greek or Roman mythology!

Uh... [hang on he's looking at the name again.] Yeah, it's Greek apparently, but I don't know if I was from there or anything.

Do you remember anything at all? Other than your hair, I mean!

Not really? Other than some argument with this kid about how a girl was totally not raised by bears.

Isn't the saying normally "raised by wolves"?

Yeah I'm pretty sure.

They weren't literally raised by bears then, were they?

[Okay, that would be weird -- but Lucy's heard weirder!]

Apparently not, as the kid kept telling me.

Do you know anything about your nationality? If red hair was particularly unusual then maybe it was natural for those around to you set it as your defining characteristic.

No idea.

I think it's probably safe to assume that it was unusual. Especially that shade... it's intense, right?

Why did you decide to dye it?

It's just a thing I do. It's been purple for the past couple of weeks, I wanted a change.

Have you always been bored easily?

Pretty much.

Do you ever worry that others perceive you as boring?

Not really? Should I be?

I've heard that people who dye their hair a lot are insecure about such matters.

Nnnnno, not really. I just like different colors.

But you've never dyed it a color you'd want to keep forever?

Eh. I'll circle back around eventually, give them a second look. I'm liking red, at least.

Maybe it means that your preincarnation also liked the color. Maybe he chose the name himself.

Maybe. Hadn't thought about that.

It could even have been a nickname.

That's sort of the same deal, but yeah. Could be. No way of finding out.

Yet... there's a good chance that you'll echo it back sooner or later.

I guess. Sounds like one of the more harmless things, which would be nice.

Better than harmless. The informative echoes are the best ones by far.
