Hey network, so... My 16th birthday is coming up soon and there's going to be a party! And I figure if anyone should get invited, it's you guys.

So if you want to show up, it's going to be over here on April 22nd: [wow look it's an address!] It's at my girlfriend's house, and she knows about us and all now, so it should be okay to come, so long as you can make it over here!

So, yeah. See you then, I guess!

It's a nice change of pace. And the food it great too. The cupcakes are quite delicious.

[He grins.]

Well, you can thank my girlfriend for those. She makes the best cupcakes.

I'll have to then. She must be lovely, especially if she helped set all this up.

Oh, yeah--she's great! Heh, I still have a hard time believing she volunteered to have the party at her house when she doesn't even know any network people! Well, aside from me and Jesse, anyway.

[Nodding.] She has a pretty open mind too.

It's nice that you have someone like that.

Heh, yeah. I was...kinda worried what she'd say at first, since all this superpower network stuff is kind of a lot to drop on somebody, but she took it really well!

Trust me, I won't be keeping anything from her any more.

[Oh no, Danny, you're too cute.]

That is the most romantic and sappiest thing ever.

[Sincerely.] Congratulations.

[He's about to ask her if she's afraid of getting cooties from him or something, but she stops the mocking long enough for sincerity, which stops him in his tracks and leaves him at a loss for what to say as his brain switches paths.]

Heh...thanks. I think I just really lucked out.

[...my not!brother thing is the cutest with his feelings. It's actually REALLY NICE, she's not used to seeing such genuine emotions from others.]

Yeah.

Especially when she comes with such delicious cupcakes.

Well, if you want, I could get her over here and you two can talk cupcake recipes? In case you ever wanna make them at home.

[Danny has never bothered learning it himself, because Olette has made it completely unnecessary to do so.]

I've never cooked before. I'd probably set something on fire, isn't baking supposed to be hard?

[He shrugs. Hey, don't look at him--his mom and girlfriend have banned him from ever touching the oven.]

You haven't cooked before either?

Not really. My mom doesn't trust me with much in the kitchen.

...what did you do to get that kind of reaction?

Well, I'm banned from handling any and all lab equipment in Cape May County, for starters.

[Those are some raised eyebrows.]

...okay, you GOTTA explain that.

[he sighs]

You know how I can turn intangible and stuff? I...wasn't actually very good at it until pretty recently. It made me drop beakers full of concentrated acid in chemistry class all the time, and, well--the school decided it was too dangerous to let me keep doing stuff in labs.

The most I can do in class now is record experiment results. Anything more and I think I'm technically breaking the law.

[Grimaces.] Oh, that does sound rather dreadful. Hopefully no one was hurt?

Well, that acid did burn through Tamara's shirt...but I think they managed to keep it from getting on her skin.

[Eep!] Hopefully. That's...really bad.

She's okay now! She didn't get hurt or anything. Although she did place a restraining order on me.

[There is a long moment where she's just kind of staring at Danny.]

I'm not sure if this means I should be very worried about what abilities I haven't figured out I've got, or just worry about you disappearing into the center of the Earth one day.

Well, uh...if it helps, I haven't done that yet?
