Good morning. My name is Chiaki Hayasaka.

[People might remember her name from her sos (cw: dismemberment) a while before. People might also be glad to know, she seems... alright now? She's alive, at least. Only just a bit of her neck and her face is displayed on the video, though. Chiaki is still being rather cautious, even though they helped save her life.]

I'd like to thank everyone who helped me a few weeks before. I do not believe I would have survived otherwise. [...Blunt, huh. She may have rehearsed this. Look, figuring out how to post the video and gathering the nerves to do it kinda made you worry.] I do have a few question, however. I've been seeing strange, black creatures from the corner of my eyes nowadays. Are they a product of this phenomenon, or something unheard of?

[She's talking about Vermini.] And another thing... does anyone know anything called the 'Reason of Yosuga'?

My first 'pulse', or 'Echo', a memory from a previous life or universe... regardless of definition and origin, that philosophy was what I received.

Those with strength will then rise up in society, but those without will either serve the strong or be removed.

I am not so sure myself. They escape from my line of sight before I am able to investigate, and I have not had much chance to chase after them.

Do you have any creatures in mind they could be...?

[That was drifting; he doesn't move a muscle until he actually starts wrapping his head around how he means to answer.

Clears his throat.]

There were black creatures innnnn. Locke City. In - spring and - summer... Last year, uh - that came after us. Shaped like - uhm. Pe - like humans covered in spines -- they - they came in two sizes...

Were they, er -- like - flies, or - like--- uhm, about -- three feet tall...?

[Dammit, Mr. Zombie, she has enough troubles translating good English in her head. She doesn't have... much experience with stuttering.]

Could you write out what you're saying, if you don't mind? My English isn't very good. [She's still keeping her polite tone, though. Better than saying 'your face is creeping me out and I really think it's a costume or some weird magic voodoo shit plus stop stuttering so I can actually know what you're talking about moron'.]

[He turns his head aside a moment as an oh God let me escape making this worse gesture - skims for a pen, catches hold of it, brings it to the bottom of the frame...

There were black creatures that came after us in Locke City last year.
They were shaped like humans and covered in spines.
Some were like flies, and some were three feet tall.

Creepy as it was, that (thing?) person was still just trying to be nice... even if she wasn't rude outright, maybe some feeling might've accidentally leaked into her words. Hmmm.]

I see. So they have appeared before. I assume Locke City is another area where many here are located? [People kept assuming she was in Locke City in her SOS...]

[The upward inflection is barely there - it's less an "I GUESS?" or unsure-what-she-means than plain all-around-incoherently awkward, and it might not be a hundred percent true, seeing as there has indeed been brain-nonsense, if not clearly related to the actual being a zombie.]

Black critters...? You m-mean the vermini? Be careful around them. They... react oddly to us. I think they can sense us somehow, and they can give you p-pulses sometimes, too. They're not terribly dangerous by themselves, but... don't take them lightly. Many of them together can cause a big problem.

I d-don't recognize that other thing, though. It sounds like it might... be some kind of book?
