I have a few questions for the Network in general about echoes, if people would be so kind to answer them.

What do you think the echoes are?

What usually prompts your echoes?

What is the strangest incident that produced an echo? What is the most mundane? If you don't want to give specifics on an incident for either of these, some generalizations would still be appreciated.

Do you get echoes from the strange incidents that is usually associated with the alien things, Re: Wise Snake, the lights in Vegas, etc?

How many people remember other people on the Network in their echoes?

Why would I have? Learning something new doesn't overwrite anything. [Yeah, that concept sounds pretty weird to him.]

It's more the concern that with the odd method of learning might somehow kick something out. But it's a relief that's not the case.

Do you feel you're a different person now than who you were before the Network?

I'm pretty sure I can pinpoint what any of mine did, and nothing about it suggests a personality shift. There's this person I feel like I'm supposed to protect . . . the only weird thing about that is that the person isn't here, as far as I know.

Granny's never said anything about me acting that different, kids at school never have . . . Pretty safe to say that I'm still me.

How different was the person in your memories from you?

... Not that much, from what I can tell. [It's never quite hit him that he's quite similar to someone who was clearly an experienced soldier and commander, despite being just a regular kid here.

[But then . . .] But he did one thing that was really messed up, that I never want to do.

[It's not an Echo that he likes to think about much, but every so often it seems to come up. It's one of the only distinctly uncomfortable ones he's had.]

... I saved somebody to just kill him personally. [There's a lot messed up about that to him. If he'd wanted the guy dead in the first place . . . why save him? He could have dealt with just having let the guy die as it was. But this is kind of twisted.]
