Hello. My name is Lamont Alexander, lately of Oxfordshire.

I... cannot say I know whom it is that I address, and as such, I apologize if I in any way if I overstep my bounds by posting here. I don't wish to break some rule by it, only perhaps find some answers.

I am wondering what this form of communication might be? And who might use it? I hope that, should anyone be able to receive this transmission, we can speak as friends, and reduce the strangeness of all this.

[Wisdom might come with time... better to know the people one was in a situation with than what the situation was, really.]

I think so... when messages are personal, they have more meaning. Or at least, that's how I feel.

I might have been speaking to five-year-olds, as far as I know. Then it would have been the wrong thing to say. Or potential kidnappers-- definitely not the welcome I'd like to give would-be kidnappers.

That's true about personal messages! But we're all strangers anyway. Not kidnappers, though. Even if we were, you'll be fine as long as you don't give out your address!

Five-year-olds probably couldn't use it that well, either. Just curious, why those things in particular?

Ohh, I don't know. First thing that came to mind, likely. The most dangerous and least dangerous situations I could think of...

But, apologies. I must seem rather bizarre now.

However, in my defence, I have seen a few five-year-olds who are impeccable with an iPhone.

Not bizarre at all! I've seen... things.

You'll probably see them, too, eventually, but don't freak out! Network people are usually willing to lend a hand. No five-year-olds with an iPhone that I know of, though.

[Then again, she hasn't exactly met everybody.] We're a pretty big group.... [That thought segues into another; the last time she saw a big group of Number-people together was...] Has someone told you about the aliens?

Trying not to freak out! I promise. To be honest, everyone has been helpful enough so far, and if all of you can manage... well, I can follow a good example.

I've been told. Difficult to swallow, but I cannot imagine so many people would lie. You all seem very sincere.

I'd like to think that if I'm here too, I can help in some way. Eventually.

I have trouble believing it, too, sometimes. But it's good to know you aren't alone, isn't it?

But now that the aliens have straightened things out, we shouldn't have much to worry about. "Help" probably means construction projects and parties, if you're up for that!

That's always a plus, yes.

I'm always up for a party! I don't know that I'm very handy with wood and a hammer, but I'm certainly willing to learn.

Do you volunteer to that effect?

Sometimes, I suppose? There were just a slew of parties a while back, and I thought I'd help out. Giving back to the community, and all! Why, do you do any volunteering?

I think that sounds great. Very uplifting! Do you run them still?

I... don't, no. I mean, not yet, anyway. [Slight embarrassed over the fact.] I'd like to.

They're all done with now, I think. But there'll be ones in the future! If you volunteer for them—or for anything, really—make sure you know what you're getting into! Not everyone here is trustworthy. [Not that she knows any personally, but gotta keep internet safety in mind, and all.]

Someone could trick you into bringing food to a dinosaur. [Now there's something she knows could happen.] He seems pretty bored, though, so maybe he'd like the company.

They aren't-? It would seem that would be counter-intuitive to volunteering... well, now I'm nervous. Perhaps you wouldn't mind taking me on with you, for the next thing you volunteer for?

[A blink.] Dinosaurs still exist-? Or did you mean at the Natural History Museum?
