[It is 3 am. Danny's hair is disheveled, and he is in his freemasonry-symbol pajamas. His face is lit only by the glow of his laptop screen. He looks crazed, and it's not certain whether he actually looks like that, or that's just because of the lighting.]

Oh my god, guys, I just--I figured it out!

So, there were those pink lights in Vegas that we all saw, right? And pink lights mean something's alien-related. So alien-related stuff is showing up in Vegas, which is only like 200 miles from Tonopah Air Force Base, where the real alien testing was done during the Cold War when they were using Area 51 as a decoy!

Guys. This--this can't be a coincidence. Who knows how deep this goes. It might even go beyond the Locke police department, beyond Sherman and even Edwards. This could go as high up as the military--or the secret service, or the president himself!

I don't know what's going to happen next or what it all means just yet, but I know it's connected somehow.

[it's not exactly the most intelligent response ever, but Kara's dull stare makes it fairly clear that she's kind of hung up on the 'something ghosts can do' thing]

Ghosts. Ghosts have these, uh, specific powers that I remember--including green energy-thing hands that look just like what you had earlier.

Are you a ghost?

If I am then I have not been informed of this fact! [her voice squeaks towards the end]

Not always. I mean, I didn't know I was a ghost for a long while. I'm...still not sure when that happened, actually.

What about, uh, flying? Flying's another big ghost thing.

I cannot fly here and now, but it may have been something my past self was capable of? I remember transporting someone into space without any help from survival equipment.

[oh god WHAT IF THAT'S THE ANSWER TO THE MYSTERY OF HOW SHE GOT INTO SPACE NOOOOO]

Huh. I don't--I don't really remember any ghosts flying into space, but...it's not like they need air to breathe or anything, so. It makes sense that they could just fly into space without any problems like that.

I had been wondering for some time how I was capable of achieving such a feat.

[she sounds kind of miserable about the fact]

Is there anything I can do about the possibility of having been a ghost?

[It's only now that he realizes how upset she sounds. He tries to approach this a little more sensitively but. man. How do you even talk sensitively about the fact that someone might die just because of an echo?]

I...I don't know. Just...don't be surprised by it when it happens, I guess? Um. On the bright side, no one will really be able to tell unless they try checking your pulse?

I do not know how I could not be surprised at the sudden end of my life, to be perfectly honest.

[she sighs deeply, but is visibly trying to perk herself up as she continues to speak]

But the pulse is the only way to distinguish a ghost from a living person? I could feasibly still attend classes and wrestle without incident?

[He nods.]

My--my parents still don't know. I've been going to school this whole time like normal.

I...I actually don't even know when I died. I know I noticed it around Christmas, but I think I was already, uh, dead a while before then.

[He still sounds a little awkward, but he's mostly pretty comfortable speaking about this. He's had a good four months to get used to the idea of being dead.]

At least I will not have to startle anyone by suddenly being struck dead. It would be most inconvenient with finals approaching.

[because, yes, this is what's most important to Kara. being able to finish out her degree so that all the money her parents have put into her education doesn't go down the toilet because of a poorly timed echo]

Is it very difficult for you?

[you in particular, she means. Kara's gotten over the initial shock (although this is something that will probably come back and haunt her later today and on into forever) and is now focusing back in on Danny. it's rude to talk about her problems exclusively, after all]

The, uh, ghost thing? Not really. I just had to make sure I never bled where people could see, and always went to the LSR Clinic if I needed a doctor.

It was kinda freaky and weird at first but you get used to it.

I suppose that we really have no choice but to become used to things, do we? I sometimes forget this until something incredibly strange reminds me that we are in the middle of odd happenings.

[most of her pulses have been things she could feasibly ignore. it's strange to think that this might not be the case for her in particular someday in the future.]

[He raises an eyebrow.]

Being able to shoot ghost-blasts out of your hands didn't count as incredibly strange already?

Well, it is...not so bad? I understand how to use them, so they are not something that I think about usually.
