[Voice, later in the evening]

Luci here. You know, we need to stop meeting like this, guys.

No, scratch that. Well, partially scratch that. I could do without the massive headache from getting my memories back to be sure, but I'm happy to be back. What did I miss?

[She chuckles, her tone of voice turning more serious.]

I imagine a lot has changed. I can archive dive later if need be, but... but I'm happy to be back. At least I think I'm back completely. I'm not really sure, things are still a bit hazy. I'm waiting for someone right now, and I don't imagine too many people are up this late, but if someone happens to hear this, could you humor me by bringing me up to speed? Everything I know about what happened is through the news, and given what I remember, they aren't always the most reliable source.

i think everything important was probably on the news tbh but other than that um...
oh there was an alien that we killed, that was kind of cool.
and some robots?
and then yeah the snake you prob saw on tv.
not sure what else really went down you need two know about.

I think I remember most of that, the alien and the snake business. And from what you've said, most of it has been covered. That surprises me, but I guess I'm used to everything being covered up or colored a different way.

[She had put in the numbers somewhat out of habit, not quite noticing the connection juuuuust yet.]

yeah its kind of weird after so long but
its kind of nice having normal people know i think.

oh also there was another one of those lights in vegas? i dont know if you saw that.
so i guess some people are going there.

I heard about there being another place that was like us, but Las Vegas, really? How in the world did they keep that under wraps?

no clue.
the light normally means the start of something though i think.
so either something is starting or something already started and is getting bigger.
thats my guess at least.

Okay, maybe not very long, but it feels like it! There's probably a very logical explanation as to why she's not responding right away, but that likely doesn't matter right now, does it?

By the time there is a response, it's late. In the background, the sound of some large vehicle idling, and the gentle grind of plastic wheels on pavement.]

Oh, sorry, I actually meant to text you on your phone, not...

[Yeah, she's going to get in trouble, isn't she? SHE WAS GOING TO ACTUALLY DROP THAT BOMB. Just. Not this. Way. More diplomatically, since Harper had been prone to being Harper.]

Wow, things look different... Oh, right, um, where am I? [She is legit not sure where this bus dropped her off, because what is "At the greyhound station right now?"] Downtown, somewhere. In Locke. I just got here.

Kind of, I think. It's all still a bit muddled up there, but I think everything's back in one piece. And yeah, other than the splitting headache and sitting on a bus for eight hours straight, everything's great.

W-well, I guess the first big thing was that we all went to this farmhouse to fight aliens and cops!

That went pretty well, until we all came home to find the giant rampaging snake.

I'm sure you've heard about that...

After that settled down, Miria and I let some friends stay over!

One of them is Jacuzzi Splot, he's really nice! And from our past life!

And then our buddy Rakka started staying over just about... a couple hours ago!

She's got wings and a halo! So she's kinda getting used to that.

I guess the only other thing is that another pink light shows up in Vegas! So we're expecting more Numbered folks soon.

Oh, and we're kind of immortal now.

Just a bit.

Well, we were fighting this giant snake.

Not the giant snake, but it was... pretty big.

And then we healed!

Really quickly! So, kind of immortal.

We took care of the farmhouse where the Police were converting their employees. Right now, toothpicks and books and iPods, among other things, are attacking us.
