[The video flickers on to a close shot of a dark-haired woman's face. It's possibly you might have seen her face before, on the ad at the bus stop, or model that new dress in a magazine. She usually appears to exude pure confidence in her photographs, but right now, she doesn't look confident in the least.

If anything, she appears to be a bit apprehensive.]

I don't know if this is the right place for this. [She runs a hand through her long, black hair.] I'm not even sure if all this is real.

[Her thoughts flicker to the newly-formed scar on her chest. She shakes her head, as if to dismiss the thought entirely.] What am I saying? It had to be real!

[She forces her lips to curl up into a small, tight-lipped smile.]

I'm Misato Katsuragi. I don't remember any of my past life, but I'm hoping that someone out there might be able to tell me more. If that name or this face mean anything to you, I'd like you to call me. My number's 555-736-7360.

[Her smile widens now. It's certainly more genuine than the smile a few minutes before -- and relaxed, too.]

[Misato frowns for a long time, mentally deliberating whether or not she wants to actually engage with this little brat. But there's a chance that someone else might be watching, and she wouldn't want to give any potential friends-from-a-past-life the wrong impression, now would she?]

Not a thing! That's why I'm asking around. If anyone knows anything about me, they'd be connected to this network, right?

So, either I'll find out someone knew me, or I'll be back to square one.

The only thing that's changed recently is my appearance. It happened around the time I saw that burst of light in Vegas. On TV, of course; I don't have time to be traveling right now.

What changed? Hair color? ...Eye color?

[Misato looks incredibly uncomfortable at this line of questioning. Whatever it is that's changed, it's definitely not something normal.]

I'd... I'd actually prefer not to say.

Gross.

[Looks away, then back at Misato.]

My eyes used to be blue before all this, so I get it, sort of.

H-Hey! It's nothing like that! It's not like that at all!

[Oh god, she can't have some little fourteen year old thinking who-knows-what about her body? Why did she open her big, stupid mouth?]

It's not something simple like the color of my eyes changing. [She wishes it were, though.] It's a scar where I didn't have one before.

Maybe you were one too? Though I only remember fighting with Shinji, Myself, and her.

[Misato's mouth hangs open for a moment.]

[Misato's expression goes thoughtful, as if she's really considering it.]

I guess it could explain where the scar came from.

It's certainly a possibility.

Although the fact that four out of five of us are teenagers, while you're way older might mean otherwise.

No way to tell until you get more echoes.

[Through gritted teeth:]

[If there had been a coffee mug in her hand, it would have shattered in her grasp.]
