(closed) the more it gets dark
Who: Keith and Holly
What: Keith is getting good at chance meetings
When: April 1st
Where: At the park
Warnings: None!
[ Given what had happened during the wise snake attack, it was understandable that a lot of people were stressed, confused, scared. From the sounds of it, it was one of the worst disasters to hit Locke City in living memory, and he certainly couldn’t begrudge them their feelings. But the best way that he dealt with stressful situations such as that was to try and work past it, to put it all behind him, and to that end he focused on his friends and on John.
After all, if there was something that the Labrador had taught him, it was that life continued to go on. There were still people out there to meet, to help and to bond with, not to mention many other things that he needed to do too. People were relying upon him, and he couldn’t afford to let them down.
As much as possible he was trying to keep up a normal routine, and on this particular day it meant bringing John to the park for a walk. Given that the weather was clearing up he was starting to get even more excitable than usual, which was proving to be something of a challenge for the young man. Usually he thought that he was well prepared for whatever John wanted to do, and could keep up with him rather well – but today of all days, he seemed determined to sniff out everything in the park and chase after unsuspecting victims.
It was just as he started to chase a young girl that Keith decided he should probably warn her before it was too late. After all, all it would take was a slight lapse in attention, and she’d end up with an armful of golden retriever. ]
E-excuse me, miss—please watch out behind you! Otherwise John might—
[ Catch up to you and start slobbering all over your face. ]

The bag she'd been carrying lands beside her, her pink Clow Cards spilling out onto the grass along with the pink staff she used to summon them.]
Ah I'm sorry.
[Holly is immediately apologizing, her hands going up in worry that she'd hurt the dog.] Are you okay you pretty one? [She asks John her expression cough between worry and a smile.]

And so is Keith. Though first he scrambles to pick up that which she has dropped, and he holds it out to her with a sheepish look. ]
A-are you alright, miss...?
no subject
[Her second hand is up to accept the things back, shoving the cards back into the bag quickly.] Is he yours?
no subject
[ She seems alright now, at least... Keith can't help but be relieved by that. ]

I always wanted a dog. [She explains to Keith, looking up at him before finally shifting to stand.]

Are you not able to have a dog at your home? If you ever can, I certainly would recommend it! You will not find a more faithful companion anywhere.

[She ruffles the fur again, her smile bright when it turns back to Keith.] I'm Holly. [She introduces herself, her hand out for a handshake.]

[ Not that it's a bad thing, but he can understand why they wouldn't want to add to it at the current time. Still, if they could in the future, he'd definitely have to encourage that!
When she extends her hand, Keith beams even further (if it's possible) and shakes her hand enthusiastically. ]
My name is Keith! It is a pleasure to meet you, Holly!

[Thoughts of magic and large pink snakes had been ruining any sort of normal day she'd could have these past few weeks.]
no subject
[ Yes, he's willing to help out a complete stranger. To those who know Keith, it shouldn't be that surprising. But to her it might be odd... ]

[Of course, the moment she meets someone who's nice, something bad has to happen. A strong gust of wind catches her bag, which she'd left open in her hand and sends her cards flying all over the grass across from them.] Ah! No!
no subject
[ Nevermind, hold that thought. When he realises that her cards have been scattered everywhere, he abandons the idea of conversation for the time being so that he can go after them instead. He doesn't even look at them as he tries to pick them up, simply trying his best to save them before they end up being blown away again. ]

[She says with a bit of a miffed sound and just like that the card stands straight up and floats in front of her, in the perfect place for her to grab.
Oh- shoot! Snatching the card she quickly glances over to Keith. Did he see?]
no subject
Did... did that card just--
[ No. It was just his imagination, surely? ]
no subject
Ahhh she sucks at this!]
Yes.. it did stand up on it's own. [She's peeking through her fingers now, her expression worried.] I'll understand if that freaks you out.
