Where: Breakfast at the Ikari household
What: Rei and Shinji need to work out some of the issues that have been pushing them apart. What better way to do it than over a bowl of cocoa pebbles.
Warnings: Nah

[Cocoa Pebbles. One of the only meals that Rei can prepare without Shinji's assistance that doesn't turn into an absolute disaster. On any other morning should would have stormed into her brother's room and demanded blueberry waffles, pancakes, or french toast. But today she didn't feel like it, she just didn't have the energy. Especially not after how things have been lately, and definitely not after her seemingly endless fights with Kaworu. Shinji would certainly show up later to find Rei quietly digging into her cereal.]

[Because he hasn't been woken up by Kaworu or Rei somehow, Shinji stumbles out of bed at his own pace pretty groggily, yawning as he enters the kitchen and sees his sister eating cereal.]

Taking care of yourself for once, huh...

I managed to dress myself too.

[She doesn't make eye contact, in fact, she makes a point not to.]

Good morning.

Morning...I'm proud of you.

[He starts making coffee before getting himself some cereal of his own.]

Proud has the same definition as "relieved that your sister is no longer clinging to you like a leech", if I recall correctly.

What're you so cranky for early in the morning?

[Lifts up her now pebble-less bowl and drinks the milk, kind of like a slob.]

Did you have a nice valentine's day?

[Shinji makes a grossed out face at that, but refrains from commenting on it.]

Better than any of the other ones I've had.

I watched NCIS. It was okay.

[Lifts an eyebrow.]

What did he buy you this time?

Nevermind. You don't have to worry about a puppy again, though.

I was thinking more along the lines of a kitten or something.
