I've got a question that I've been wondering since I, well. [Slight pause.] Nearly blew out a wall on the side of our house testing something out with my powers.

Is there anywhere to reliably test abilities that's not going to attract a lot of attention? Particularly for loud, destructive abilities?

I sort of feel like blowing something up after this week could be cathartic.

[There's a momentary beat, then an absent:] I hate this time of year.

[...longer pause. Ah. Whoops.] ...the weather, I mean. The cold. I, uh. Spent half my life in Los Angeles. Still haven't gotten used to that or the snow.

[Smooth save, Lily.] So, ha, running around in a magical dress is kind of... inconvenient...

That's a good question - whether or not you need to be wearing that dress for your powers, or whether they just make them stronger, or whether you could switch them out for something less voluminous with no cost except the time spent changing into them.

[After all, no two magical girls are the same.]

As it stands now, what do you think is the case for you?

It's a whole transformation... thing. I'm just a normal person without them, although now I've got some really sharp reflexes I didn't before.

But the super strength, speed, and energy blasts... All of that only comes when I'm fully transformed. Hair, dress, everything.

As far as you know, yes... but have you actually tried removing the dress while you're transformed?

That seems far more cumbersome than it could ever be worth, not to mention not very practical.

A while back someone found an abandoned warehouse in Dead District to practice stuff in. That was a couple months ago though, so I'm not sure how its been since.

Regardless, the Dead District is not an ideal option. And no matter how abandoned, I'm going to be blowing things up. I- ah, well, it would be good to test the limits of those powers, I think.

Let's just say I need to do some shopping, and replace some things in the back yard. I hope I can find the same bird bath and garden gnomes. I THOUGHT I was only using a little bit of power, but I don't know... Filtering out the instincts I got when not in an actual fight isn't easy.
