When: after the snake fight meeting (so... the evening of 1/25?)
Where: their house I guess
What: soren is confused by his sister's newest echo

It was a bit after they finally made it home (after a detour to Davin's since he picked them up) before Soren finally thought about something odd during the fight. Pulsechoes were normal to him by this point, especially memories like he'd gotten, or the power boost it seemed Aria had gotten. But his sister's sudden language ability was definitely weird - especially since he'd still been operating under the assumption that they'd been related in their past lives, too. But as far as he could tell they weren't Japanese speaking aliens... so this was really weird.

So a while after they've gotten home, he's knocking on his sister's door to talk to her.

"Come in." she echos from inside her bedroom. She's actually doing homework at her desk, in a strangely good mood for once.

He goes ahead and heads in, sitting himself on her bed for a couple minutes before speaking up.

"So... You haven't been, like. Learning languages on your own or anything, right?" Just get that possibility out of the way first.

She gives him a weird look over her shoulder from her desk, before turning back to her text book.

"Um. No."

Of course not. Which means he was right.

"You know you started speaking some other one right?"

[fridayisyellow]

"Speaking some other one?" she says, dismissing his statement without even thinking about it. "What are you talking about?"

"You did. I have no idea what you said, you just started yelling at me in Japanese or something."

[fridayisyellow]

"What?" she turns to look at him in shock. "No I didn't!"

"Yes you did!"

[fridayisyellow]

"How could I speak a language I don't even know."

[mood2wiingiing]

"A pulsecho."

[fridayisyellow]

"But you said I was speaking Japanese!"

[mood2wiingiing]

"Yeah. How else could that happen?"

[fridayisyellow]

"I dunno. Do they speak Japanese on our alien planet?"

"...I don't think so."

[fridayisyellow]

"So then I couldn't have learned Japanese from an echo!"

"I heard you do it. Why would I lie about that?"

"You don't even know Japanese, so how could you know if I spoke it or not?"

"You spoke something and I'm pretty sure that's what it was!"

"Well it wasn't."

He rolls his eyes, silent for a moment before speaking again.

"Even if it wasn't, it definitely wasn't English."
