[At first the camera doesn't show Fay, since he hovers out of view for a moment, to the left judging by his voice.]

Ah, so... Something a bit unpleasant happened a while ago while I was helping out a friend here on the network. That is to say, not in the actual helping out - though it got a bit dramatic there for a moment - but I got another of those pulse-thingies back.

[An off-screen sigh, and then Fay sits down in front of the camera. Notice anything different? Well, probably if you've ever seen him before. He's wearing some cloth over his left eye.]

Or rather, one of those pulse-thingies took something from me. My eye, to be precise.

[He's still smiling, but it's clearly more a reflex than anything, because he certainly doesn't look happy.]

The vampire thing seems to compensate a bit for the loss, but I'm still not jumping for joy, you know? I should've expected it, considering I remember someone eating it, but... well, it's not the sort of thing you can prepare for.

So I'm just wondering... I mean, the whole point with these things has seemed to me that we're still supposed to get things we didn't have before, not... lose things that are kind of useful to have, right? So has this happened to anyone else?

Wait wait, someone ATE past you's eye and remembering that took it out? That's fucked up!

Nooope, that's the weird part. The memory came first, and it was just... a memory, albeit a very nasty one. But then I ran into one of those giant snakes and bam, no eye. Thankfully I didn't have to feel it get eaten, but it still wasn't pleasant. [No, there had been a lot of throwin up.]

Somehow that's even worse....

You lost your eye? Are you okay? [No Holly of course he's not alright! Ahh idiot.] Do you need anything?

Well, I ain't in pain or anything. [He smiles tiredly and stops himself from answering her last question with "My eye back" because that would be mean and she's just being nice.] I'm fine really - or I'm going to be. It's just a bit scary when something like this happens. [Understatement, this is thy face.]

I bet! Do you need help with lunches or anything? My brother can barely brush his teeth without his glasses I can't imagine doing something without an eye.

You telling me? At least if it had happened all at once, I would probably have been too passed out to throw up. Both times. [No seriously, twice the trauma.]

It's like having to live through it twice...

[[Like remembering Creampuffs trauma that mimicked his own.... Thankfully that damage had only been mental....]]

Fucked up and gross as shit. I'm hoping to hell the eye eater person will never turn up here.

How's your sight? Having lost half of your vision has got to be wonky for you.

Well, I mean... they might be a really nice person in this life, even if they were scary and gross before, right? So we should probably just be prepared to beat them up if they seem like they wanna make a snack of someone's body parts.

Mm, but it could've been worse. I mean, it hurt when the eye just disappeared like that, but it wasn't the pain of having it sucked out and chewed that I remember? So at least there's that. [Wow gross.]

Not aside from ... basically losing your humanity, I haven't seen anyone lose anything.

Hopefully it won't be a trend. Especially if it involves eyes getting eaten.

[A wry little laugh, which is followed by a sigh.]

My depth perception went there for a while, I kept walking into things. But I think since my vision was already better than a human's, that's compensating for it.

Well, the humanity part wasn't so bad for me. I mean, it hurt, but at least it involved gaining things instead of losing them. But I suppose that varies depending on what kind of non-human someone is.

Ug, just trying to imagine what that felt like, that is so messed up.

Seriously, who eats someone's EYE. Totally unreasonable.

I think it does. Different perspective than from, say, the zombies.

Well, to be fair I think there was a reason of some sort. Because I remember him bending towards me and I'm pretty certain he had brown eyes, right? But then after he- [Pause to grimace a bit, moving on.] -his left eye was the same blue as mine used to be. So he took my eye by eating it. Don't ask me why, but it must've been important somehow.

Still gross, though.

So he absorbed it by eating it?

The fuck does that work?

Or is this another "Our vampires are different" thing?

Ew! Who would want to eat an eye?! That's just not right!
