So, apparently there was once a magical land called Gensokyo...or maybe there still is? It's confusing. It was a sealed off place, probably in Japan because everyone spoke Japanese, that was a sort of safehaven for all the magic that people don't believe in anymore. There were fairies and vampires and wizards and gods and who knows what else living there, who couldn't live in a world that had forgotten them.

I guess it was my home, once, so I felt like sharing. And hey, maybe if I talk about it other people will remember it.

Oh, also I told my Mom about everything. It was a long conversation, but she's cool with it. I think she's going to use some of the ideas in her next book.

Ah. Yeah, I suppose it would be. Maybe it'll get easier once she's gotten more used to the idea?

What made you decide to tell her?

I fought a giant, stone, exploding snake. Then I thought about what it would be like if it had got me and she never had any idea what had happened.

I can understand that. I don't like thinking about the danger this whole thing could bring down over our shoulders, but it's not like I can ignore it either.

Would you advice others to do the same?

That depends on a lot. I was pretty confident that Mom would handle it well because I know her. Can't say the same for anyone else's family.

True. [ He sighs. ] I want to tell my family, I have lying to them and I'm crap at it, and I want them to be aware of the danger that's out there. But I'm worried about what might happen if I do.

Yeah I know. I'm gonna sit on it a while longer, who knows maybe I'll be lucky and something will happen to force my hand on the matter. Less second guessing that way.

But at least your experience speaks to that, if I'm lucky, they won't try and have me committed if I do. [ It's not his best attempt at humor but it's better than nothing. ]
