Taking the idea that the echoes (or pulses) we get are connected to another person, possibly even ourselves in a past life: is there anyone who prefers their current life to anything of what they've remembered from echoes? I ask out of curiosity.

Not out of curiosity: I'm still investigating an echo I received a month ago, but I need more to work with. Is there anybody who's recently had a strong emotional reaction to something in their life who would be willing to meet briefly? No need to tell me what it is explicitly, but if my idea is correct I may hear something related to the stressor.

Well, that life had magic and parties and friends and all kinds of cool stuff like that, but THIS life has more things like, you know, cell phones and indoor plumbing and microwave pizzas.

Magic and parties are cool, but can you imagine life without air conditioning?

I don't know yet. I only have one example to go off of, and it's an unusual one. It's hard to determine a pattern from that.

[Jovan isn't comfortable answering the first question, because he most definitely prefers his current life over whatever it is he remembers--he's pretty sure he's getting the memories of some psychotic serial killer, and he really prefers to ignore that whenever he can--including discussions about said memories.

But...he is interested in whatever the second part is. He's not sure what he'll get out of it, but it might be something interesting. Of course, given his reputation on the network thus far, he needs to find a way of connecting that isn't going to show his number and make it clear who he is. So he speaks the number into his phone and hopes that it doesn't show. Just in case, he locks the response too and lowers his voice when he speaks--not like it really matters, no one on here has heard his voice yet.]

If you really need it, I could do it. What's this echo of yours going to do?

It's only worked once, but upon seeing somebody I know I received a phone call consisting only of something he said days before. I can't say much more for certain.

1. Yes. My other person lived through five million consecutive years of planetary warfare that I think left her planet a broken husk of what it once was. So uh. I think I prefer being a washed up computer programmer on unemployment.

Any preference as to a meeting place? Somewhere public would be ideal - this test shouldn't be dangerous, so we won't have to worry about that.

Yes, but it is possible to prefer the world you don't live in now. A "grass is greener" mindset, you could say. I'm just curious.
