Twentieth Message [Video | Sheet of Paper] - Forward-Dated to 1/23
[A message comes on with a shaky and yet, for its recognizability to anyone who's heard Anthony speak, clear:]
-- Hello... -
[The image lights up and does so - indeed - to Anthony. Shape of face and so forth ought to be telling enough, but everything's in-tact.
Skin's fresh and with not a patch on it, hair's likewise got color to it, it's fuller, eyes no longer grayed-out.
Eye, rather. Specifically the left one; the right has a patch taped over it. A clean one, though, with no sign of damage around it, but apart from that he's looking in fantastic health, to make a blatant understatement.
Back to life, that is - and between his rapid blinking and visible breathing - chest swelling, pressing in, all barely audible - it's got him in a bit of a shock.
Not a bad one, though.
Blinks a couple times more with a very rapid twitch to a polite smile.]
-- It's Anthony - Janvier, I umm. [Volume stays dialed back but words are definitely voiced - flowing up the easiest they have in months, good heavens - takes another breath. An active one, lets his lungs swell, presses them out. Flick of his eye down and up again - and then repeatedly down and up as he continues, bows his head a little. The smile stays fixed on. Still uncertainly polite.] -- I don't know how long this is going to last - [Uncontrolled vibration, not even an anxious one, just uncontrolled.] - ...but um.
-- ...I'm going to - to be - outside - for - [For how long...? Tentatively creaks out:] ... - at least a couple of days...! I uhm -- !
[Brow knits, why is this important - ] If it wears off I may be -- ...asking for help - [Cuts himself off of an "If I can", it's been demonstrated that people can - and cuts off an elaboration to the tune of "this hasn't happened before" to disguise the first cutoff, as explanation of what "this" is is really not his business to give, rats...
Quits while he's ahead then, has given that heads-up and with that he's said what he needs to, thins and licks his lips.] - so - thank you. [Nods, smile flicks up to the sheepish.] - Excuse me...
-- And erm. [Eye widens a tad, no, that wasn't it at all...] -- If anyone would. ["Would like to" doesn't necessarily warrant anything.] -- Wants to see me I will. [Smile flicks up to the sheepish. Voice compresses, keeps tripping along.] - do anything I can - if you'd like -- hope - hopefully I have at least two days - [In case the previous "at least a couple of days" wasn't enough - tentative lift of offered hopefulness there, heavens, yes, please, lead him to the fullest use of however much time he's got.
Another lower and, in an under-layer, mildly - heartier "Thank you" before he cuts it.]

["Magic" would sound a bit facetious, wouldn't it, even though that's likely the most telling he can get without divulging anything it's not his place to go sharing.
This much is likely to be inferred, at least, he's sorry - expression neutralizes.] -- Oh, someone has a. Umm. - Pulse, that can -- temporarily... [Stops in his tracks there, please fill in the blank with something vague!]

Good to see you looking more lively.
[ ...That came out sounding a lot more insensitive than he might've intended. ]

Thank you, sir. [And if he's indeed not misrecognizing the number he was told not to use "sir" but he's unsure if anything else comes off as appreciative enough in writing, hopefully it passes well enough.] It is only supposed to last for a few days, [Again!] but
[But what...] it does feel good.
[Inelegant to a perfectly inane thing to say, but it's honest, certainly, if nothing else.]

But, I'm really glad to hear you're feeling better? How exactly did it happen, if I can ask? Did you head out of the city for a bit?
[ He's somewhat curious, but at the same time, he's not entirely sure if he wants to know.
Things were strange enough as it was, and they kept getting weirder by the day. ]

Voice
His response comes a few minutes later, without any silence before hand and no trace of surprise in his voice.]
I hope you enjoy your time outside, Anthony.

[voice]
[Look great is on the tip of his tongue, but Alex quickly veers away from that one. Anthony knows perfectly well what he looked like before, he doesn't need the reminder.]
That's. How did this happ, happen? Magic?
-- It isn't supposed to last long. [Tone's lightly matter-of-fact - not disappointed or grim in the slightest, more a distraction from that last aborted sentence.]

Keeps his voice clear, if somewhat pushed out - trying to give his answer confidently enough but not carelessly, if he's missing something...]
-- Someone's pulse - sir. - It er. [Can't describe exactly what he did without, again, sharing any details of someone else's Echo.] - Is only temporary.
[And so instead he goes the repetitive route.]
