So pretty much, you're on babysitter duty again? It's been a while.

[He tries to keep the annoyance out of his voice. It's not that he doesn't get it; all things considered, it's probably good that someone keeps an eye on him right now.

But it doesn't make it any less irksome.]

Something like that, I guess. [Akito does well to keep his irritation hidden, but Roy's known him long enough to hear the edge of annoyance in his voice.] Don't worry, I'm not going to be hanging over you 24/7.

Engineering's not an easy course of study though. Checkers still stays with you.

[He doesn't believe it for one second. But he'll give Checkers an extra vigorous pet when he hears the last part.]

Your dog is in safe hands. You still keep the food in the usual place, right?

[Not like he's never seen the family feed the dog in all the years he's known them.]

[Checkers responds to the attention happily, perking his ears up and lifting his large head to lick at Akito's hand. Roy responds to the question by nodding his head.]

In the pantry, same as ever. [Roy leans further back on the bed from his previous position, moving his hands to prop himself up. It's an attempt to look relaxed, but probably comes off as more awkward and stilted than anything else.]

...Based on what I remember? I'm pretty sure other me would have killed his parents if he got the chance.

[Oh, gee. Roy doesn't know what he was expecting, but it wasn't really that.]

So now it's bleeding over, is that it? To your parents?

...Yeah. I know they're completely different people, but for some reason, whenever I'm around them...

I just feel angry and miserable, like everything's their fault even though they haven't even done anything.

[And if he'd just stayed there... Who knows how long he could have kept that in check?]

[There's a heavy sigh on Roy's end. Poor Akito just kept getting the short end of the stick.]

Just your parents? Or does it apply to others?

[What he's really asking is if he's okay sitting in the same house as his mother. For several reasons, really, as there are few people Roy is quite as protective of as his mom.]
