[Wow this is much better texting than Yuji usually uses. Clearly something must be wrong.]
To all those who know him, Nick appears to have lost his memory of the network.
Which means if you know him in person... just. Brace for the worst, I suppose. More vacant stares than usual.
I just thought you should know. If you know him.
[Now if you'll excuse him, he has to go feel sorry for himself somewhere.]

that's right he didn't wait at all to start drinking fuck you
such vodka so alcohol]
no subject
[When he slides into the seat nearby, he looks like he's expecting it to bite him.]
I see you've been busy.
no subject
WELL max has a beer and like four empty shot glasses in front of him WELCOME TO THE PARTY]
Busy? I haven't even gotten started. You were quicker'n I expected.
no subject
[He slowly raises an eyebrow.]
It looks like you're halfway through.
no subject
[NO HE'S BEEN HERE LIKE TWO HOURS but who's counting. He's kind of lost track of time it happens when vodka.]
no subject
[But he'll be good and still buy vodka.]
... are you going to begin, or do I have to actually find you more alcohol first?
no subject
[and oh look at that the beer's gone]
No pleasantries or anything, huh? Just right into my business. You're pretty straight forward.
no subject
no subject
[certainly he's not delaying the inevitable whatever are you talking about]
no subject
[Fine, fine, he'll order you another vodka shot.]
no subject
Right, whatever.
no subject
What did you mean?
[He's jumping right to the questions, yes.]
no subject
You want the full story or the condensed version?
no subject
[But, really, he'll take what he can get.]
[He knew this... guy. Robot. Person. Once. It bothers him he doesn't now.]
[For some reason.]
no subject
[A lot of things were bothering Max right now. He started fiddling with one of the shot glasses as he spoke, trying not to appear nervous or anything but very likely failing.]
Well, okay. Before I transferred here I was with the highway patrol for a couple years. Like everybody knows that, no big deal right? When I was fresh out of the academy, they partnered me up with this dude Davidson. Harvey Davidson.
...And yeah, that was his real name.
no subject
[And maybe it would help.]
Right. No big deal...
That. Certainly is a name, yes.
no subject
Yeah. It kinda became something of an in joke. Davidson and Kawasaki, the motorcycle patrol cops. There was no end to the puns, man. Hell, we even got matching tattoos.
[Oh goody the shot's here. Max will pause to drink that bitch]
We were close. I had some weird family shit going on at the time, so he was it, y'know? He was almost old enough to be my dad anyway, so I guess it just felt natural. He took me to my first bar, paid for my first tattoo. Far as I was concerned, that guy was a damn saint. Didn't always play by the rules, but I could always count on him. I trusted him with my life. You know how it goes.
no subject
[There's a note of skepticism. But he doesn't press beyond that. After all, he has a horrible tattoo of his own.]
[He'll wait. And listen.]
Yes... so I do.
[He makes a little "go on" motion with a hand. The shot is refilled.]
no subject
[And the shot is gone that sure didn't last long. Max glances around the bar, not so much making sure nobody's listening as he is stalling.]
Well it didn't last. Nothing good ever does, right? I caught the bastard selling guns n'shit to a gang here in the city.
no subject
[For the moment, he's going to hold off buying another shot. The story needs to come out. He wants to hear this without it being slurred.]
Guns? As in... police-issue weapons?
no subject
[Max laughs bitterly and tries to take a drink, only to find that all of his glasses are empty. uuuugh.]
He was in the middle of a sale when I found him. The look on my face must have been fucking priceless. Then he decided the money was more important than I was. Wanted to shut me up, know what I'm sayin'?
no subject
[That last part. That deserves a drink. And one for himself -- another vodka for Max, and a fruity nightmare for himself.]
[He nods a little.]
I see what you're saying, yes.
no subject
Luckily, he's always had terrible aim. Didn't hit anything vital. I took down two of his buddies and nailed him right in the ass before backup arrived, bastard got away though. I think he's still runnin' with whoever the hell he was sellin' to.
no subject
[He's going to drink his fruity nightmare thoughtfully.]
Do you think it was the Blood Keys?
no subject
[Max sips his drink thoughtfully before glancing around the room again. This time it is to make sure nobody's listening in.]
...And you know what really sucks? Apparently that wasn't the first time I've trusted a total asshole. That's the part that pisses me off.
