[In Japanese. Badly accented, grammatically simple Japanese, but understandable even so.]
I can speak Japanese. I learned from a high school class. High School language classes are not good. So I am a super genius.
[Back to English]
Okay I'm sure that sounded like a 2nd grader, but hey for four months of classes that's pretty good, right? I'm kind of leaving my class in the dust, and I think it's because the past Marisa spoke Japanese fluently.
This means I've suddenly got a lot of work ahead of me.

Some of my memories are in Japanese, and I can't understand them. Also I got a bunch of, uh, reading material that is also in Japanese.

I guess there's no dismissing it as a dream when it's something like that. How do the memories work? [Asking because she isn't sure she got a pulse, whatever the FAQ says. She didn't get an item, but she doesn't seem to have a strange memory kicking around, either.]

Not too bad I guess. I'm not too sure I'd say "super genius," but it's better than I'd expect from a beginner.

[She got about half of it, and figured out the other half from context. Stubbornly sticking to Japanese for this thread.]
Just you wait. I will sound native soon.
no subject
Sure you will. In maybe four or five years. I can hardly wait.
[Hey she's not actually being that mean here. Most people take even longer to sound even close to like a native.]

So it's not just me who can't understand half her memories because they're in the wrong language? Seems like some people got a free pass there.
