[Private to the good doctor Aaron]
I think I need to make another appointment soon. My coughing's getting even worse.
[Public to the Network]
I'm sick and tired of studying for finals. I'm taking a break. Werewolf adventures were fun and all, but now I'm pretty bored.
[He pauses, thinks of Casval, and smirks.] Well, maybe not that bored.
Anyway, I like telling stories! I've got a few here, they're some of my favorites. And I need a way to stay up late tonight anyhow.
"My lilies are my most prized possession. Hand picked. I will only take the most supremely beautiful specimens. They must be white as an angel’s wings, and so soft and delicate to the touch that you must be careful of the harm you bring to them. Perhaps it is selfish of me to hoard them as I do. But as it is I who takes them first, it is I who shall enjoy them, their sweet, intoxicating scent and their soothing elegance.
To listen to the lily’s voice is to hear the sound of unrestrained magnificence, fine tuned to stir the soul into a passionate uproar. It is for this reason that I keep my lilies, one dozen at a time, at all times. I must hear the cry of my recherché beauties, bear witness to their bleeding, revel in the need they have for me. At first, even I, pious as I am, questioned this desire, but finding the answer proved such a splendor in its own rite. It is seeing my lilies weakened into such a state that I am all they have left, as they are all I have left, that I derive a satisfaction indescribable to one who has not experienced it themselves. But nothing is perfect forever. One of my lilies has wilted. I must be off immediately to replace her."
This is an old one, I'm sure everyone's heard it before but I like it: ""Daddy, I had a bad dream." You blink your eyes and pull up on your elbows. Your clock glows red in the darkness - it's 3:23.
"Do you want to climb into bed and tell me about it?"
"No, Daddy."
The oddness of the situation wakes you up more fully. You can barely make out your daughter's pale form in the darkness of your room.
"Why not, sweetie?"
"Because, in my dream, when I told you about the dream, the thing wearing Mommy's skin sat up." For a moment, you feel paralyzed; you can't take your eyes off of your daughter. The covers behind you shift."
I just found this one tonight. It's actually pretty good! "There was a hunter in the woods who, after a long day hunting, was in the middle of an immense forest. It was getting dark, and, having lost his bearings, he decided to head in one direction until he was clear of the increasingly oppressive foliage. After what seemed like hours, he came across a cabin in a small clearing. Realizing how dark it had grown, he decided to see if he could stay there for the night.
He approached and found the door ajar. Nobody was inside. The hunter flopped down on the single bed, deciding to explain himself to the owner in the morning. As he looked around, he was surprised to see the walls adorned by many portraits, all painted in incredible detail. Without exception, they appeared to be staring down at him, their features twisted into looks of hatred. Staring back, he grew increasingly uncomfortable. Making a concerted effort to ignore the many hateful faces, he turned to face the wall and, exhausted, he fell into a restless sleep.
Face down in an unfamiliar bed, he turned, blinking in unexpected sunlight. Looking up, he discovered that the cabin had no portraits; only windows."
This one's kind of long, so I'll link it here. Don't worry, no shock images or anything like that, I swear.
So what do you think? Did you like them? :) The Lilies one is my favorite.

I do, actually. I was hoping I'd be able to wake up early tomorrow.

They're good, though. If you want to scare yourself silly.

I like them. Being scared is fun sometimes, it's why people like halloween and haunted houses so much. Have you ever seen those pictures from that one haunted house that snaps one at a particularly scary attraction? The people are HILARIOUS.

Same thing goes for horror movies, though I can't seem to find any decent ones these days. [Not that he particularly wants to.]

A lot of the Korean horror ones are pretty good about it for both sides, though.

Your stories are really good! I had actually never read any of them before. They're a little scary, but in a suspenseful kind of way! I know one myself. Would you like to hear it?

Okay.
One day a man was out working in his backyard. It was a hot summer day, so he quickly grew thirsty from the physical labor, and went inside his house to find himself a drink. Thankfully his wife was the kind of woman who cared and she had made a pitcher of fresh lemonade the night before, his absolute favorite. She was a nurse and worked early hours so he was home alone, and when he saw the pitcher of lemonade in the refrigerator he was very grateful to his wife for her kindness!
He hastily poured himself a glass and downed it quickly, barely even tasting it as the cool drink went down his throat. It was his favorite, after all! He had every right to drink it as quickly as he wanted! A man's right to guzzle lemonade in a fury!
Happily, he wiped his mouth with the back of his hand and looked down into the glass out of habit and habit alone. Among the ice, in his glass...
There was a cockroach.
The end!

Oh jeez. This is almost adorable]
That was pretty scary!! Did you just make that up? You're really good!
[In reality he's kind of rolling his eyes]

[He considers finding some more terrible ones, but he's pretty convinced the person he's talking to is like 12 and you know, he likes kids. No need to traumatize them forever yet.]

[OOC: want to put this in a separate log, or actionspam it here?]

((OOC: Do you have a particular preference? Otherwise I was going to just suggest actionspam here but I'm cool with either!))

[The clinic is a low brick building. It's solid, and structurally in good repair, but little care has been given to its outside appearance. The doors are heavy, solid and metal, and all the windows are barred. The door is unlocked, though, and Souji will walk into a sparsely-furnished cinder-block-walled waiting room. There's no one to be seen.]
[action]
He shoves his hands into his pockets and yawns loudly before calling out.]
Oy, doc! You here?
[action]
Come on back!
[action]
You need to get a receptionist or something, this place is creepy.
[action]
Would a receptionist really make much difference?

Or something like that.

Yeah, get a super cute receptionist with a great rack... It'd certainly make me feel better visiting.
