Text, Once again backdated to 12/3

[After several hours of adults being either incredibly angry or incredibly relieved, and several more hours of sticking to his paper thin story of 'we went exploring and some stuff fell on me', Luke finally has some time alone in his room. His handwriting is smaller and more subdued than it normally is.]

I'm home and safe and stuff
just so you guys know

[Phillip is also pretty worried about Luke's reaction- he doesn't understand it, but he's still kind of worried.]

[Toushirou can't be said to be the most emotional or compassionate person on the network. But this is different.]

Come by for cocoa if possible. [She doesn't know the kid, but after what seems to have happened - whatever it was - comfort food sounds good. And it's pretty much the only thing that she could do, not being the best at talking to people.

Hopefully this is an okay offer to make, and not upsetting, especially if it cannot be accepted... She just wants to help but what if it is completely wrong... It is probably good that he cannot see through the very neat, orderly handwriting, because she is very tense right now, which translates to a murderous glare.]

[Luke ignores the question and gets right to apologizing.]

we went off exploring I know we shouldn't have and Im sorry

I can come over and keep you company, if you want. I could bring Gloria too. [feel better friend. ;;]

[Honestly? He'd really only meant the laying low thing for while Luke had been grounded. But whatever.]

Did I say anything about that? No? Then don't apologize for it. Just answer the question. [This totally sounds sympathetic; what are you talking about?]

[There's a long pause before any more writing showed up. In truth, Luke had turned the chalkboard face down and spent a minute huddled under his comforter, trying to keep himself from crying. It had been a very long day, and at the very least Luke is glad Toushirou didn't opt for any kind of video. He doesn't think he could handle any more yelling than he'd already had to endure. Eventually when he's calmed himself down a bit more he picks the board back up again and writes.]

my face hurts some but I've got some ice and anything that was bleeding has got bandaged up.

[Luke stares in confusion at the message for a few moments, trying to figure out if he had met this person before and forgot or if he just didn't know them at all.]

[Luke spends a while staring at the message. He's not really sure why this person is talking to him, although he supposed he should have expected it since he didn't lock the post or anything. He just tried to make his message as bland and vague as possible so that hopefully most people would ignore it.

But apparently that hadn't worked. It's a while before he responds.]

[Luke's chalk is poised and ready to start scrawling out sorry's the instant his worries are confirmed.]

Not a lot. [He was hurt, so he just had to explain that he'd left school because he was trying to get home and in the destruction and detours got lost.] When should I come over?

[Luke struggles with what to write next. He's not feeling good. He feels weak and shaky and he's changed clothes and taken a bath but he can't get that smell out of his nose. He wants to say something, but has no idea where to start. So he puts down the chalk board, thinking the conversation was over. He takes out the Ocarina, running his fingers over the polished blue surface gingerly before realizing that Phillip might have gotten something too.

That's something to talk about. That's changing the subject.]

[After once false start Luke pauses, taking his time to try and figure out what he really wants to say. But the more he tries to think on it the more the scene just replays, and the confusion and fear of the whole afternoon starts to well up in him again. His breathing picks up and he can smell it again so he has to stop and bury his face in a clean cool pillow for a moment. He gives up trying to get the right words and just writes.]

Er -- [Dry throat-clear.] -- oh, good, you're -- [Cannot be sure he ought to be convinced by those words, but better not to sound overtly suspicious off the bat, takes a couple of wandering glances off to sides.] -- you're uh -- ...not in trouble, are - you?

where did you go? you know it's dangerous for us number club guys right now. from the way you're talking about it sounds like you got in trouble.

[Oh no, Luke had sort of assumed that everyone knew already. He doesn't know how to say this. It takes a while for him to reply.]

[... Okay even Toushirou can recognize that maybe this isn't a good thing to talk about right now. But he'd needed to ask if Luke was okay. Since the answer is pretty clearly "no", it's possibly a good time to talk about something else now.

[So there's a very long pause here because what is dictating the flow of a conversation?]

So did you get a Pulse out of all that? [Yeeeeaaah, that's kinda the best he can do.]

Things look pretty difficult recently, so it's good to hear someone's alright!

[He's... not sure you actually want to know what he got.]

I just got a memory. What's the flute like?

[ It's kind of hard to make out what he's seeing in the sketchy black and white chalk rendering. It looks pretty human shaped, but there's a lot of extra lines and shading and it just sort of looks like someone scribbled all over the person's face. Luke recognizes the voice however, so he writes a quick message then switches to a hand mirror he has in his room.]
