there's a joke to be made here somewhere but I can't find it
Who: Sasha Braus and Connie Springer
Where: McDonald's
When: Sunday night
What: Sasha bugs her BFF at work.
[Sasha Braus would probably be described as a pretty happy person, overall.
In fact, those that know her would probably say it's weird to see her walking into a restaurant of all places looking upset, but here she is. She immediately scans behind the counter for her best friend, who she's pretty sure is working right now...
...Only to suddenly leap towards the part of the counter people wait for their orders at when she spots him cooking fries.]
Coooonnnnnnnieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
[Listen to that whiny, needy voice Connie. It is full of despair. Let it sink in while she catches her breath so she can whine for your attention more.]
Your shift's almost over, right?!

[More barbecue sauce. Connie is the type of person who really doesn't like to acknowledge the darker side of life when he doesn't have to. It's better if he can just ignore it and laugh about something else.]
Terrorists or whatever? Yeah right, gimmie a break...
Bein' a super hero ain't easy...

[Stuffs more fries in her face and sniffles.]
Especially not when people die and stuff.

...Somebody...died? [He already feels himself starting to sweat. That's right. The danger is as real as the magic. People can get killed. People probably have gotten killed before.]

As much as they joked and tried to make it a fun thing, it really wasn't. And Sasha logically knew all along this was dangerous and supposed to be a Big Deal, but it was just her nature to goof around and make light of things.
This, though, this was something she couldn't just laugh off.]
Mikasa disappeared...about a month ago, remember?

Somebody he knew. Somebody he had classes with, talked to. A piece of his life died because of this.]
N-no way, I thought she just...thought she just split, y'know? All the stuff goin' on with her family, her Dad's company I...I might have not wanted to be in this city anymore either, y'know?
She isn't...She can't...

[She's past the denial phase at this point, but she was definitely there before.]
Tavia made the likelihood sound better than Alan, though.

[He points his finger at her, his eyes turning a little bit red.]
You can't...until you're 100% sure...
They kidnapped Alan and Tavia, so...Maybe, worst case scenario, she's just...

[Oh no she's getting emotional again...she stuffs a nugget in her mouth to distract herself from that.]
no subject
[He's trying to smile as he reassures her but it looks hideously false. He's grasping for straws here.]
Sasha...it's not...final...Not yet, so...
[Runs his fingers through his hair. A drink from his gigantic shake is his only respite.]
