What: Rescuing idiots. Running distractions. OOCly weeping at how ridiculously big this got.


OKAY SO. This got a hell of a lot bigger than I anticipated when I asked for a few rescue volunteers on Plurk. Twenty people piling into Mac's terrible car isn't just overkill, it's impossible. So this will take a little restructuring!

The main rescue team - (Karson?) Mac, Chris, Shiro, Danny, Walter and Roxy - will be the ones actually getting Alan and Octavia out. Everyone else is free to:

Join a distraction team

Form a backup offensive team - please be aware that the mods have said that "if it gets loud, the rescuers will encounter a handful of armed police officers. And a handful of unarmed ones." I'm not anticipating there will be much fighting, if any at all.

Back out altogether because I hecked up oh god oh man note to self: never organise anything ever again.

There were several ideas for distractions discussed in the IC distress call post - fax/printer spamming, joyriding past the police station to try and draw away a few cops, instigating bar fights and such in the city and calling in the police over that, creating light shows with freakish past-life powers, etc. There'll be a thread below for potentially playing these out, or they can be handwaved if people would prefer.

BASICALLY I don't want anyone to feel unwelcome or anything just because I got overwhelmed! I hope everyone is okay with this attempt at de-clusterfucking the situation.

[ Octavia is just going to go conspicuously quiet all of a sudden and wave at Alan. Mainly because if she actually opens her mouth she is going to burst into gross noisy overemotional tears and start snotting everywhere whilst wailing "ALANNNN BOOHOOHOO I MISSED YOU I LOVE YOU OH GOD YOUR BUTT IS SO HOT WAAAAHHHH."

Her silence is a blessing for everyone present. For the love of god don't question it. ]

[Danny is definitely not questioning it. Nor is he going to question being called D-man. He simply gets to work, walking into the cell. Before grabbing hold of Alan, though, he pauses.]

Oh, and uh, fair warning, you might feel weird going through walls and stuff. Just whatever you do, don't let go.

[And with that, he grips Alan's arm, extends his intangibility to the both of them, and walks them both out of the cell.]

Okay, so everyone who can't go intangible on their own, hold on to me and then we'll walk out of here.

[And whoosh out the cell they go. Weird. Alan doesn't care, though - as soon as they're through, he's clinging to Octavia as hard as he can.]

Are you okay?

[ Walter follows Danny's instructions and grabs his hand. The lovebirds aren't latching on quite yet, but he supposes they're allowed a few moments of snugglage before he can gripe.
