What: Rescuing idiots. Running distractions. OOCly weeping at how ridiculously big this got.


OKAY SO. This got a hell of a lot bigger than I anticipated when I asked for a few rescue volunteers on Plurk. Twenty people piling into Mac's terrible car isn't just overkill, it's impossible. So this will take a little restructuring!

The main rescue team - (Karson?) Mac, Chris, Shiro, Danny, Walter and Roxy - will be the ones actually getting Alan and Octavia out. Everyone else is free to:

Join a distraction team

Form a backup offensive team - please be aware that the mods have said that "if it gets loud, the rescuers will encounter a handful of armed police officers. And a handful of unarmed ones." I'm not anticipating there will be much fighting, if any at all.

Back out altogether because I hecked up oh god oh man note to self: never organise anything ever again.

There were several ideas for distractions discussed in the IC distress call post - fax/printer spamming, joyriding past the police station to try and draw away a few cops, instigating bar fights and such in the city and calling in the police over that, creating light shows with freakish past-life powers, etc. There'll be a thread below for potentially playing these out, or they can be handwaved if people would prefer.

BASICALLY I don't want anyone to feel unwelcome or anything just because I got overwhelmed! I hope everyone is okay with this attempt at de-clusterfucking the situation.

Are you guys hungry? I think I still have a Digorno pizza or something left in the fridge, if the rescue party didn't eat everything in there while we were planning.

It's no problem. And usually I wouldn't care, but we can't risk anyone looking for you just yet so don't tell anyone you're here. Stick to people on the Network if you have to say where you are, your parents'll have to be worried for a couple more days at least. Just mention my first name, though, not my address or anything. We still don't know how secure the Network is.

As long as no one without a number finds out you're here it should be okay though.

As long as needed, or until it's not safe for your guys to be here. I doubt the cops are going to do a door-to-door search but we'll be careful. Do both of you have cellphones?

Uh. We kind of. Left our phones at home. So I guess the police have those by now? Unless Karson picked up mine when he went to get the money I left him. And if he did I hope he was smart enough to fucking turn it off.

Well, the cops might not have gone through our houses yet unless we've been reported missing. That'd be too suspicious, right? So our phones might still be there.

No, it's fine if they're still there. They can't see Network stuff on them. I just wanted to get rid of them if they were here, so they couldn't track you to my apartment.

Just make sure none of your friends bring them over. I have paper and stuff, you can access the Network through there if you need to.

Now, the couch pulls out into a bed so you guys can sleep there, but if anything happens you can hide in my storage closet. There's too much stuff in there for a regular cop to dig through so you should be fine if you're quiet.
