Who: Pierce Asher
purity, Miki Kaoru
heymiki, and you!
When: After school
Where: Locke High School
What: Shenanigans?
[Pierce gets to his car before he realizes he left a rather important notebook behind. He rifles through his backpack twice, three times before he accepts that it's not on him. And so he hurries back to retrieve it.
Now, most people would enter the front door. It's a perfectly normal thing to do.
But no, Pierce instead scales his way to a second story window and clambers into the music room. Awkwardly, to be sure, but he's managing just fine.
That is, before he pauses, looks around, and sighs because he's doing it again]
Shoot...good thing school's over I guess.

It was a good thing that none of work was difficult or else he would have spent all night once more trying to do them! The only thing that was taking most of his time was practicing the piano. It was perfect, he could actually finish everything before sundown! Luckily it was after school, he could finally have some peace and quiet on trying to finish the last subject of his work! Just play the piano a-
Suddenly, out of nowhere, Miki couldn't help but immediately jump up from his chair! As the chair hit the floor, he quickly looked around for a voice in the room. That was strange, wasn't he the only person in this room?
....He was the only person in this room wasn't he? WASN'T HE?!]

Since he wasn't particularly keen on risking injury from a fall (and the lecture his little brother would no doubt have for him), he pulled himself through the window at last.
And hit the floor with a solid thump. Ouch.
The things he did for his schoolwork]

Goodness, he wasn't hearing things was he? He certainly hoped that playing the piano wasn't making hear things that weren't there...
Of course, given the strange things that had been happening to him lately, anything goes. He just hoped that there weren't any monsters roaming around him, the recent monster attack was enough! He didn't need another one!
Just before he went back to pick up the chair....there it was again! While he did make another jump, ow he was sure he wasn't hearing things. He was sure of it. The moment that he turned around?
......Of course]
Why couldn't you use the door like a normal person, Pierce?

Better than some of the reactions he'd gotten from people before. Those were difficult to explain his way out of]
I...guess I'm a bit out of it today, sorry.
[He put on an easy, apologetic smile. If there was one thing Pierce could really do, it was smile. It was easier when he did, for more reasons than one.
It took him a few moments to observe that Miki was the only one in the room. Longer than it ought to have]
Say, isn't it a bit late?
no subject
Well...let's just say that there would be a lot more chaos than just the chair hitting the floor. He was just happy that he managed to walk away without a heart attack!]
It's okay, just try to be careful next time...you're not hurt right?
[Luckily, Miki was usually the forgiving type before giving a hand out to him. After all, the important thing was to making sure his friend was safe.
But he did raise an eyebrow at his question.]
Yeah and...?
no subject
[He figured he was lucky that it was Miki here. Reactions were typically way worse. And he found that completely understandable, but he didn't seem to catch himself early enough to actually avoid doing these pointedly strange things. It really was a mess.
But he saw no point dwelling on that for the moment. Other things to focus on, after all]
I just didn't expect anybody to be here, that's all. Were you working on something?
no subject
[Despite that, Miki couldn't help but keep eyeing Pierce. There was no way that he was able to climb to the second story window and not get any injuries. Then again, this was Pierce.
Ah well, he'll look around if there was anyone else that was walking towards the music room.]
Oh that? I was just practicing the piano for school. I mean, the piece is due tomorrow anyway so I might as well start now right?
[Or procrastinate]

[Pierce had always felt that latent talent wasn't the most important thing. Practice was what made someone skilled, and it never hurt to get more of that in when time allowed. It was something he'd probably said to others more than necessary, but he fully believed it.
And really, his unoccupied time was generally spent on just that. Granted, he intended to make a career out of piano, but still.
It took him a few moments to consider his strange entrance had probably been disruptive, but it occurred to him soon enough]
Sorry if I interrupted you. It looks like I misplaced something, and I thought it might be in here.

[But there was only a couple of hours left before the school closed. This might be plenty of time to some but for Miki? It wasn't. While he does enjoy music, he had some difficulty with the piano and sometimes, practice alone wasn't enough. At least, that's what he always thought.
Ah, how he was a little envious of how people were able to pick up on things a little quicker than he did.
When he finally went over to the get the chair back up, he raised an eyebrow.]
Really? What are you looking for?
[You climbed to the second story window...to get something. .....How did you not break an arm or a leg again?]
no subject
[Not that he couldn't replace even the original compositions he'd jot down in margins. It was one benefit of a photographic memory, but he'd still rather locate his notebook instead of writing everything down all over again.
It didn't look like there were any stray notebooks lying around though, when he glanced around. Maybe somebody found it and turned it in to the lost and found already...
But he could continue his search in a little while]
Are you stuck on something?
no subject
[Easier said than done. There were plenty of other things lying around in this music room. Outside of the piano, there were other chair circling around it. To the side, there were cases for the trumpets, clarinets, and whatever was inside them. And to the back, the music stands were covering up the bottom half of the wall....
As he stared at his friend's attempt to find his notebook, he stared back his own with notes.]
Ah, I'm just trying to figure out how to play from this music book. [He showed said piano book to him before chuckling to himself] I have to play a song by tomorrow but I guess I got distracted...
no subject
[Naturally that's part of why it matters to Pierce. Anything from his brother is precious to him, no matter how small it happens to be. That's simply the way that he looks at things.
He looks at the piano book and recognizes the piece, humming a little of it before commenting]
Oh, that's a great song. The rhythm's the important part.

[Ah, the joys of having siblings. He couldn't help but smile to himself a bit. Sometimes, he wondered what would happen if he had one with him. Then again, perhaps it was for the better. He didn't want his sibling to feel the same way about his parents. Not that it wasn't a bad thing but he didn't want them to continue feeling so bitter.
Of course, his thoughts were cut short when Pierce started humming, Miki started to blink a bit. Huh...that was weird, wasn't he just...]
Um, yeah...do you know this song? The rhythm's a bit tricky for me, I don't think I can get it just right.
no subject
Miki on the other hand could probably use some help then and there. Not that Miki wasn't perfectly capable, but sometimes it helped to collaborate with other people]
I'll check with them in the morning, I'm an early riser, and they won't be dashing out the door then. Mind if I stick around?
no subject
Oh well, how was Miki going to have to repay him somehow? He'll have to think of something but in the meantime, he just smiled to himself before finally responding back.]
Are you sure? Shouldn't you quickly get it back now while you have to chance?
[Not that he was rejecting his offer but...]
no subject
[Pierce's reply came without missing a beat, along with an easygoing smile. It wasn't that he wasn't concerned about getting the notebook back, but if it was at the office, it was liable to be there in the morning too. Time was much more of an issue for Miki than it was for him at the moment.
Besides, he didn't think he'd be a terribly good friend if he didn't try to help. Sometimes it just took another opinion to get past a block, when it came to schoolwork. Piano was really no different in that regard]
But you need this time to practice, right? Time's ticking by here.
no subject
[Miki could only give a shrug in response. However, he was going to feel guilty if Pierce was late for school tomorrow. Oh well, there really was nothing he could do about that. He wasn't going to force his friend to go off to get the notebook if he didn't.
Of course, he gave a small smile. He was right as much as Miki didn't want to admit it.]
I certainly do but we better start now right?
no subject
[Pierce had picked up on a few notes, but really, he'd been pretty absorbed in his thoughts. Besides, he was always interested in how others handled music. Much like anything else, it was a highly individual matter.
He took a seat in a nearby chair and waited. If he was still unresolved about the notebook, it certainly didn't show]
[ooc: Sorry for being super duper slow, rough week on the schoolwork front]

I was trying to play Moonlight Sonata but it's certainly a lot more difficult than I thought!
[Miki could only stare at the piano piece before looking back at the instrument. He could only sigh as Pierce sat next to him.
These next few minutes were going to be so awkward wasn't it?]
no subject
[Pierce remained upbeat, if anything exuding confidence. He believed in Miki, even if Miki didn't.
After a few moments, he reached over and pointed out a series of notes]
That part was tough for me, personally.
