Who: Sanae, open to anyone to come visit
When: Backdated to 10/27
Where: The shrine in Japantown
What: Sanae's first day back to work after her trip and after a certain other shrine maiden has started working there.

While the shrine was no means her actual home, she felt at peace on the grounds, the gentle swooshing sound of her broom as she pushed leaves off the various paths almost cathartic. While the shrine wasn't necessarily a business, this was definitely their off season, with the next public ceremony being both a smaller one as well as generally not very well attended--the shi-go taisai ceremony. A few families would come from out of town to have their children blessed, and for the most part Sanae's job in that was simply cleaning and selling charms the day of. Still, it was something she looked forward to because of the children. The Onmyouji and his wife were a bit old, so it was hard for them to keep up, especially with the very little ones. She had a few games in mind to keep them from terrorizing the grounds too much, it was just a matter of getting the other priests and priestesses involved.

Speaking of, it seemed rather quiet, even for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Traffic had been low, and it felt almost like she was the only one there for most of the time. But that was okay. She continued to sweep near the entrance to the grounds, humming a bit to herself as she did.

During days like these, Miki usually found himself having nothing else better to do. While his grandparents were good company, he usually want to find a place where he could have some time for himself. The problem was his usual spot happened be crowded this time around. He spent most of his time in the library but he wasn't too surprised by the outcome. After all, now that people weren't so busy, they too had some downtime to sit back and relax. Oh well, he thought, he would just have to find somewhere else to go.

Eventually, the boy managed to pass the time in a certain part of the city. However, as he does so, he couldn't help but stare at a certain little shrine from the corner of his eye.

Finally, a clean path! Sanae let out a small sigh of relief. That took much longer than she had anticipated it would. The help that they had around the shrine lately must have been a bit lax in that department. Setting her broom against the large red archway separating the main shrine grounds and the small stairway connecting it to the main street, Sanae say down on the steps, watching cars pass.

It was then that she noticed someone standing not to far away and, being the polite thing to do, she perked up a little, smiling and waving.

A shrine would be the last place he would find solitude in somewhere. For one thing, it just seemed a little rude to be hanging around the area not doing anything. There were so many there who were praying to the gods and then there was him. Just hanging around the area doesn't seem like a good idea and it would probably create a lot more trouble than anything.

However, he was a little curious about the shrine and he had some time to kill anyway. So instead, he gave a small smile back at the young girl before mumbling to himself. Ah, he hoped that he wasn't being rude here....

She might take more breaks than she was actually allowed to take, but as lazy as Reimu often was, she did actually do all her duties around the shrine, even if it took a little bit longer for her to do them. Also, it should surprise no one that she wasn't as big of a fan of the kids. She was used to dealing with this particular problem back at her grandmother's shrine though, so it wasn't exactly anything she couldn't handle.

At the moment, she was at the point of getting around to doing some actual work. Her Aunt had mentioned that there was a girl who volunteered as a shrine maiden here who had been away on a trip for a while and who had only just come back, but Reimu hadn't met her yet.

So, she wasn't too surprised that someone was already sweeping the grounds when she got there. Although... there was something oddly familiar about this girl. Reimu decided to walk over to the fellow shrine maiden.

Somehow, Sanae knew that someone was watching her well before she actually saw the girl. It was a strange feeling, almost like a crackling in the space between the two teenagers, as if the air was excited by some kind of fated meeting. Never having been especially spiritual herself before visiting her family just recently, this was the closest thing that she could equate to a possible spiritual experience.

Even before Reimu reached her, she turned toward the other shrine maiden. It hit her almost immediately, the vision, fast and dizzying and intense, so much so that it made her face hot and her head swim. Arrays of light flashing past the two, flying at breakneck speed, feeling like there was so much at stake... but at the same time, no real malice there, but maybe a bit of curiosity and playfulness?

She immediately stopped sweeping, clutching her broom hard, and simply stared, not sure when or how to break the silence. Did... did she feel it too, or was that just her?

Reimu was hit by the... whatever it is they called it at the same time Sanae was, the moment Sanae turned around to face her. Again, she found herself assaulted by images of flying through the air engaging in some flashy magical duel of some kind with the girl standing in front of her.

She froze for a moment, clearly as thrown off and wide eyed as Sanae was. She couldn't help but feel a little annoyed by this, which may or may not have been somewhat influenced by the annoyance her other self had obviously been feeling, but still had more to do with having these visions to start with. She knew this wasn't exactly the other shrine maiden's fault though.

"Ah, hello..." She finally said awkwardly.

She felt it too, didn't she? Noticing Reimu's body language, she didn't know whether or not to ask. She had been warned not to talk about the Numbers in public, and it was very possible that she was misinterpreting the other shrine maiden's reaction. Hands easing up on the handle of her broom, she tried her best to smile, albeit a bit forced. "Hello..."

Somehow it felt weird to be so formal, but at the same time...
